Countdown Day 12

Box 12 is from Carol of heirloomsforyou. I love the outline reindeer and the star button on the box. Inside was this handmade bead charm using 3 different coloured pearls. Very delicate.
Thankyou Carol.

My box no.12 is made from an old christmas card.

I love the picture of the red robin and decided to use red card stock for the inside tray. The theme for the trre hanging was inspired by the robins red breast and the cut out punched chiristmas flower on the back.

Feeling down in the dumps today as I have another bout of cystitus and really don't feel like doing any crafting at the moment even though I have several items to make by next Friday. Just waiting for the pills to kick in!!

Coundown Day 11

Todays box is this stunning creation by Shannon of quiltinginpinks.
Inside is this rather stylish book mark made fron a little blue bell and a trinket spelling out Hope. What a lovely idea. I have just bought a book on the English Civil War as my christmas read over the holidays so this will be excellent for marking my page. Thankyou Shannon.

My box no.11 was one of my early makes using old christmas cards (I tended to make them up out of sequence That way I was fooled imnto thinking there were not so many of them!!)

The card had a front door on it that just hapened to fit the size of the matchbox. Perfect! , and of course what else could I place inside but a christmas wreath tree hanging.

Still playing with my flower punches so a little white christmas rose for the back of the box.
Now where has this little front door ended up I wonder. Hmm.

My box no.10 has a holly theme this time. At this point in making up the boxes I gave in a bought an X cut trimmer! I'm off and running now. Straight cuts R us.

Inside a small bell and ivy tree hanging. I'm off for a snoop around now to see if I can track this down and also my Box no 7.

Countdown Day 9

Box no.9 comes from a previous swap partner namely Molly of materialgalmolly. (We did a bead swap back in the summer)
Molly has enclosed a shell from the shore line where she lives and has written in the box 'From my shore to yours'. This has turned out to be very apt as the box has travelled across the ocean from USA to UK. Thanks Molly. Another treasure for me.

I don't need to go searching for my no.9 box as I already know who has it! My very lovely blogging pal Sherry. I had a very excited email telling me that she had not 1 but 2 of my boxes in her collection. Sadly I don't have any of hers but we are in another matchbox swap for Christmas so may just get lucky 2nd time round.

A Father Christmas theme this time. I have switched to craft card now but having dificulty cutting in a straight line. (No not drunk but in need of new glasses.)
What else to put inside except a pair of cheary father christmas earings.

Have fun today and I will see you again tomorrow for the next installment.

Workdesk Wednesday 79.

Well this is my desk about 5 mins ago. I have cleared the decks (to the floor) to start a spot of painting. Can't see very clearly in the photo but on the tall glass I have outlined a design of Poinsettia and trailing leaves which now need to be filled in. The smaller glass is one I practiced on. Hopefully I will have it finished in time for a christmas table display. If you want to see what other people are up to then pop over to Julia's blog here.

To see the culprit of lasts weeks desk you can click here. So far the ransom has not been paid so he is still in custody!

Countdown Day 8

Up to day 8 already. This box is from Sandi of MusingsofSamiam. Cannot thank personally so if you are reading this please play along Sandi as you are missing all the fun.
Box has an image of a snowman and child with the sweet words Pals which just says it all. Inside a gorgeous pair of snowman earings. Thanks Sandi.

My box no. 8 is made from an old christmas card and a stocking cut out embellishment. I love the cute bears and couldn't resist popping inside base of box.

I made a small beaded felt stocking tree hanging inside to continue the theme of 'What you see is what you get!)
Because of the translantic time differences I'm still searching for my no. 7 box. Hope I can track down later on today. Have fun opening all todays boxes girls.

Countdown day 7

Posting a bit later today as I have been out to the post office to post a very important parcel to a very specal lady! (All will be revealed shortly).

Box No 7. in my bag of goodies comes from Angela of Pages by the sea. A lovely bell paper decorates the box with a silver bell embelishment. Inside is a cute christmas wreath brooch. Thankyou Angela. I shall wear the brooch on my jacket this festive season.

Here is my box no 7. I used an old christmas card for the box and was then a bit stuck for an idea for the inside but then I found these little wrapped boxes.

So I made up a felt parcel and attached the presents to make a little tree hanging.

The back of the box showing a parcel of presents which gave me the idea.
