Catch Up.

My Frozen shoulder has decided to play up big time. I should be in stage 3 of recovery for it by now but it feels just like it did 16 months ago so sitting at my computer and typing for any length of time  has been a no go. I have managed to keep fairly up with comments.
Fortunately I have had these sunburst panels sitting on my desk from a play a while back so I have quickly made into cards to catch up on two christmas card challenges with the girls from the christmas card club.  Gwen wanted snowflakes as her theme and Christine asked for the sentiment as the focus with no image.
Here are my cards.

I used a wavy edge gold sticker strip to accentuate the divisions between the  design papers and the large snowflake die cut  was in my stash ready cut out in cardboard so I colored with a gold gel pen and then gold stickles glue. The sentiment is a gold sticker as well.
Plain silver sticker edging this time and the snowflakes were in my stash . As they were already die cut in greyboard I just added silver stickles glue to them.  Sentiment and bauble stickers from my stash.

This last card was made from card that I had crazy pieced the bits of design paper left over from the above cards onto. The stamped sentiment  came in a set of 4 by Docrafts. Black glitter spots from my stash.

Double Z Fold Card.

It is a new challenge over on the Butterfly Blog and is using the last letter of the Alphabet Z.
#143 Spin The Butterfly Wheel with  Z for Z Fold Card.
Going forwards no one has answered my question from #142 so I take it that everyone is happy to continue with a  New run of Alphabet shapes starting next time.

Here are my inspiration cards for you all  using papers and images from Card-making- downloads

First card using from the wheel Z Fold Card/Zenchua/Zinc/Zebra/Butterfly .
Design Paper is from Lilac Plaid  and  the Butterfly pattern from Shades of Heather. The digital stamp is by June (Mommas' Scribbles) and called ' A Pansy Spray'. Coloured using my promarkers.
The sentiment is from my stash and the extra butterflies were fussy cut from the backing paper.
You will find the tutorial for making the Double Z fold card over on the Butterfly Blog under the card shapes tab at the top of the page under the banner header.  I used  my Wink of Stella brush pen  to give a shine to the  flower petals and the fussy cut butterflies. . The Oval die cut is by The Works.

Second  card using from the wheel Z Fold Card/Zenchua/Zinc/Zinwaldite/ Zebra/Butterfly.
Again the shape is a Double Z fold. The digi image is by Elaine Sheldrake and called Tabby Kitten Cat & Roses. Design paper is again from Shades of Heather and the sentiment sticker from my stash.
The digi image download comes with the extra flower shapes and butterflies for you to fussy cut out. I coloured with my Promarkers and then added silver stickles to the flowers/butterflies and leaves.

I just fell in love with this image as soon as I spotted it.

Third card using from the wheel Z Fold Card/Zinwaldite /Zinc/Zigzag/Butterfly .
This shape is called a Swinging Z fold and you will find a tutorial for making over on the Butterfly Blog under the card shapes tab at the top of the page under the banner heading.  the design papers are both from the Earth_Linen Paper Set. The small butterflies have been given a coating of Wink of Stella and shimmer as the light catches them. The sentiment is a sticker from my stash. The butterfly die is 'Terrace Butterfly  by Memory box.  The zigzag at the top has been done freehand.

Last card using from the wheel //Zinc/Zenchua / Zebra/Butterfly
This  card is show casing  design papers  from Vintage Floral Script paper  and Cottage Chic Butterfly Peach . The die cut used is First Edition Picket Edge.  Sentimnet from my stash.

The prizes for this challenge are Gift Certificates from Card-making-downloads and I have shown you just a tiny selection from the huge range available on their site. Hope you will come along and play in the last challenge of the current  Alphabet.  Challenge runs for 3 weeks.

Give Me Five.

Into the last week of the current butterfly challenge already and today I am showcasing cards made from digi's I have purchased from CraftsUPrint which is the company I am using  for the gift certificates for the winners of the challenge.

First card is a download which includes on the same sheet the card front, an extra bird, 3 printed sentiments and one plain plaque to add your own.
I am using the following from the Butterfly Wheel.
Yam/Yarrow/Yale blue/real stitching as my choice/ Butterflies.

The graphics for the print are by Moonbeam1212 and Jaguarwoman designed by Anne Lever.
The music sheet has faux stitching on it and I enchanced by going round with real blue thread. Front cut to size and adhered to pale ice blue cardstock and then onto caramel card to make the card base. I fussy cut the extra bird out and one of the sentiments. Before attaching to the front of the card I just  went round the edge on them both with a fine gold pen to hide the white edge from where they were cut out.  Mounted using 3d pads to give a bit of dimension. I only used 1mm onthe bird and 2mm on the sentiment as shown below.

Second Card using a download which is actually left and right inserts  but here I am using the right for the front of my card and the left  as just one insert on the inside of the card.
I am using the following from the Butterfly Wheel.
Yam/Yarrow/Yale blue/sticker sentiment  as my choice/ Butterflies.
Sheet is called Butterflies and Roses and is by Isabel Neves.

I have simply cut the two panels out and adhered to pale blue cardstock and then onto yellow cardstock for the card base. The gold ticker sentiment is from my stash and added to the front.

Third Card using a download sheet called Butterfly Someone Special designed by Karlene Marrinan. sheet comes with the card front and a small front and back to make a gift tag and 5 butterflies to cut out.
I am using the following from the Butterfly Wheel.
Yale blue/Yarn/ Butterflies.

The wording is on the card front along with the rope/yarn design. I fussy cut the butterflies and edged with my White Wink of Stella pen. Adhered to the front with 2mm 3d pads and then onto a blue cardstock for the base card.

Fourth Card using a download sheet called Sunkissed Myra Roses designed by Anne Lever. Graphics by Moonbeam1212.  Sheet comes with the card front, a smaller one for a gift tag and 2 flower sprigs  to cut out. It also comes with 2 oval sentiments and a plain one . I have chosen to use a stamp by Julie Hickey for my ssentminet and stamped with black ink straight onto the panel.
I am using the following from the Butterfly Wheel.
Yale blue/ yellow/Yam/Yarn/ Butterflies.

I cut the image out and went round the edge with my handy TH tool to give a distressed look to the paper. Adhered to caramel paper and then blue cardstock for the cardbase. Tied with yarn using bakers twine  and then glossy accents used to make the dew drops on the roses. Close up below.

Fifth and final card using a download sheet called Vintage Bird and Butterflies.  Designed by Marijke-kok.  Sheet comes with the card front, 3 sentiments and four butterflies to cut out.
I am using the following from the Butterfly Wheel.
Yale blue/ yellow/Yam/Yarn/ Butterflies

The card front looks like it already has panels on it so I just continued the theme by cutting two more panels from yellow and orange card stock and layering up onto a white card base.  I fussy cut the four butterflies out and edged with my clear Wink of Stella this time. Before putting on card using 3d pads I went round the outline of the butterflies on the image which gives a lovley shimmer as you can see it beneath the top butterflies. I covered one of the sentiments with the wink of stella pen and when dry added to the front of the card.
Already given this card away as there was a note popped through our front door this morning that said our lovely neighbour Laura was popping out to the shops but didn't have time to knock to see if we wanted anything so just got what she normally gets for us.
On the front door step was a pot of yogurt, a stick loaf, milk and half a dozen eggs. What a sweetie she is!!

Hope these cards show what a selection of goodies can be had from CraftsUPrint. I simply put in the word butterflies into the search engine on their site and got 5,000 hits! It took me nearly 2 days to look through them all.  I put flowers in and got the same amount of hits so the lucky winners of the challenge will have a lot of choice.  There are card fronts, cutting files, papers and card shapes to purchase all at very good prices along with some freebies too. It really is an Aladdins cave.
N.B. I receive no renumeration  or sponorship from the craft sites that I purchase the gift certificates from.
Challenge runs until Tuesday 9th June.
