A Floral Explosion

Time for some more inspiration over on the Butterfly challenge.

Here are my cards for you.
1st Card using Butterfly/Grape/Glossy Accents.
I have used a ready made card shape which I drew around on the grape coloured card and trimmed to be a tad smaller to fit onto the front of the card. I die cut the centre out using my Xcut ' Parenthesis ' largest die in the set.  The dig image is by Bugaboo called 'Bug Flower Butterfly Corner'. Coloured using my Graph'it markers. and a silver gel pen. The sentiment (by Crafter's Companion) has been die cut 3 times and then adhered together before being given a liberal coating of Glossy Accents. I placed and centered  the image under the die cut aperture before adhering to the front of the card.

The gold is the glitter card and the gems are from my stash and dotted around the image.  Not showing up here in the photo but the trailing leaves and the top leaves by the butterfly have been coated in glossy accents. I have layered up the image onto the glitter card and then onto the base card to give dimension along with the gems.

Little Acorns

Every year I mean to do an Autumn themed card and this yr I was determined to get one made and here it is. The stamp was actually coloured up over 4yrs ago and then put away. Not actually forgotten about but I wasn't happy with the result. I had been going to a craft class where we were using promarkers but the teacher then changed us to colouring pencils and I just can't get on with them. I was so upset when I coloured him in as everyone else in the class had done an excellent job in getting the colours blended.  4 yrs on (and on his own ) he doesn't look as bad so time to make him up into a card.
The stamp is by Sheena Douglass Perfect Partners 'Little Acorn Stamp Set' . It comes with leaves and acorns which we did colour up but I'm not happy with them either so not used.  I have followed  the sketch from Cheerful Sketches as the design for the card.  The papers are either magazine  freebies  or digital downloads. The jute edging was from my stash along with the hugs and kisses gold sentiment. I die cut Mr Squirrel using my Sizzix scallop circles 657552.

Fairy Dust

Time for a new challenge over on the butterfly challenge where the new theme is
#110 Spin The Wheel with the Letter G.

Here are my first inspiration cards for you

1st Card using Gold/Gems/ Butterflies.
I have used a gold promarker for the hair and the gems are also gold which I have attached  in the centres of the design paper flowers.
The digi image is one  that I received as a prize back in Nov 2012  Called  'Fairy Dust -0002' by The Scrapbook Society. This is its first outing.  Coloured using Graph'it and  Promarker pens + a gold gel pen. I wanted to enter the challenge over at Cheerful Sketches so decided to incorporate the sketch for October on this card. The pink butterfly paper is from Paper Craft Essentials magazine. Other papers unknown. I have die cut the image using using my xcut circle dies and then adhered to another die cut which is Spellbinders Blossom five. I thought that it matched the flower design on the floral paper perfectly. Dismal lighting doesn't show up the  gold gems that I adhered to the centres of the flowers. They sparkle beautifully IRL. (I am investing in a proper light box so should not have these problems in the future!)

Entering the card above into the following challenges:
Cheerful Sketches Challenge # October challenge.

Love To Craft #27 Anything goes.

2nd Card using Green/Glitter/ Butterflies.
I have used glitter card here and attached my digi image by Delicious Doodles called 'Butterfly Border' using  extra strong red ds tape.  Image has been coloured using both graph'it and promarker pens + a silver gel pen.  The pink and green design paper is from Paper Craft Essentials magazine and the green paper adhered to the base card is from Making Cards March 2015 called Potted Petals. Sentiment is a silver sticker from my stash.

Scaredy Cat!

I don't normally make Halloween cards but this one is winging it's way to our Grandson as my weekly cat card to him. The word search I  enclosed for him this time was to find things to do with Halloween. He had a list of 18 words to find.

I have made an easel card and this is the front folded down showing the image which is a digi by Digi Stamp Boutique called 'Spook Cat'. The sentiment is part of the same set.  No colouring required as it is a silhouette design.  It just so happens that one of my daughters cats is black and his name is Boo so I thought this would tickle my grandson to receive.
The black stars were stickers from my stash.

Blossoms.

Time is running away again. I'm chasing it as fast as I can!  I couldn't get any decent photos until this morning either after chasing the light all round the house yesterday. Well I will keep fit if nothing else!!
On to my last two inspiration cards for the Butterfly challenge which is now entering its second week.

#109 Spin The Butterfly Wheel with the Letter B.

First card is using the last two elements to show you.  Burnt Orange/Bows.
Here I have used a digi image from Beccy's Place called Blossoms 3. Coloured using my Promarkers and edged with a gold gel pen.
Mounted onto cardboard and then attached to cardstock to make a top fold card. The bow believe it or not was from a pair of  old slippers I was throwing out. It had a button attached but I removed that and replaced with the wooden butterfly button. ( Button saved for another time. Waste not want not and all that). Sentiment is a clear stamp by Hobby Craft.

Entering the card above into the following challenges:
Dream Valley #188 Flowers
Passion For Promarkers #435  bingo board. (Flowers/Image/Sentiment)
Fab 'n' Funky #412 Embellished with ribbon or lace.

Crafters Castle #10 Anything goes.
House of Cards #  Autumn flowers and/or colours.

Second card using all seven elements of the wheel showing it can be done.
Butterfly/Baby Blue/Burnt Orange/Buff/Bows/Birthdays/Borders.
This time the digi image is by Delicious Doodles called Blossom.  I have coloured using my promarkers and the three colours from the wheel and finished with a silver gel pen. The bow is attached to her hair and the sentiment and borders are silver stickers from my stash. I have covered the butterfly using a glitter gloss pen but of course it is not showing up in this photo. Is subtly there IRL though.

Christmas Mono.

Time again for the girls in the Christmas Card Club to show our makes. The theme was chosen by Kate and is Christmas in Mono.
I have two stamps that lend themselves to Mono colouring perfectly so it was just a matter of finding suitable christmas papers from my hoard of magazine freebies.
1st card is Mono in Grey.
The design paper is a making Card Papercraft Special from 2017. The stamp is by Stampendous 'Cling Snowy Postcard which I have stamped using London Fog ink.
Both the design paper and the stamped image have been adhered to cardboard and then distressed round the edges using my handy TH. tool. The sentiment is a sticker from my stash. Looks red here but IRL is silver.

2nd Card is Mono in Black.
I have used the second stamp on here which is again by Stampendous  'Cling Train Postcard'. Inked using Tuxedo black ink. Adhered to cardboard and distressed around the edges. This time I have added a slightly larger  bigger piece of black cardstock to create a border.
The black sentiment and stars are stickers from my stash.

3rd card is Mono in Brown.
The backing paper this time is by Lily of the Valley from their Krafty Christmas paper pad. The Stags head is from a magazine freebie set called Majestic  Moments which is both a stamp and a die cut.
I die cut from brown cardstock to match the snowflakes on the design paper. Die cut 5 times and glued together. Paper and brown card stock were layered in the centre of the card to form a diamond design and the stags head adhered using a 3D pad. The sentiment is a Britannia word die which I cut twice and again glued together.

Hope you like my selection Kate.

On the home front I now have my email back but The Doc doesn't. Apparently there had been a breach of security so quite a few people were affected.  Still trying to get The Doc's email up and running again.

Butterfly Borders.

I feel as if we are fighting a loosing battle here at the moment . No sooner do we get one thing fixed then something else goes wrong. Now we have no Email. Been like that since last Friday. Our service provider is supposed to be on the case but nothing seems to be being sorted.

A new challenge has started over at the Butterfly Blog.

#109 Spin The Butterfly wheel with the Letter B.

Here are my first two inspiration cards for you.
The first one uses  Butterflies/Buff/Borders.

It would have helped if I had actually had the image the right way up whilst colouring it in!! The flower arrangement would have made a lot more sense but I think I have gotten away with it.  Can't believe I didn't realise it was a window box. I thought the brackets at the top of the window looked a bit odd and I still didn't twig. Lol. Thank goodness I didn't add the sentiment till I had realised my mistake.

The image is by Mo's Digital Pencil called 'Rustic Window Box. ' In my defence I always right the name of the image on the back when I print off the digi images (so that I don't forget whose they are)and I had written it upside down on this one.  Coloured in using my Graph'it markers. The butterflies were already pre punched in white card and I also coloured with a Graph'it pen.  The sentiment is by Kanban. Strips of pink gems were in my stash and used to make the borders. Image adhered to pink card slightly larger and then adhered to the buff coloured card which I completely covered the front of the white base card with.

The second one  uses  Butterfly/Baby blue/ Birthday.
This is a stamp by Creative Expressions called Caroline's Butterfly Dreams.  I must admit I was impressed on how well it stamped out just using on an acrylic block  and with only one inking.

Coloured this one using my promarkers. I  also used two shades of grey markers to colour the framework which I thought looked quite like a pewter tray.  The sentiment is again by Kanban and I didn't stamp it until I had done the colouring so heart was in mouth when I  finally added it. I used a white scalloped base card and trimmed the two outside corners on the blue cardstock using my corner chomper and again on the stamped image.
Hope you will find time to play along. Challenge is for two weeks as normal.

New Home.

A lovely blogging friend has just taken delivery of her new  Havanese puppy and this is the card I sent her to welcome him into the family.
I love making Joy fold cards and this was no exception. Though Dudley is a boy and white I wanted the card to be pink as my friend loves pink.  The dotty design paper is a digi one by Pink Petticoat form their Isabeline ' Little Polka dots  Dark Grey. The paw print stamp is one I have had for years and actually bought from a Cat Show when I used to show Persians.  The words are all generated in word and printed off.

Here is the inside of the card when opened out. The die is by Britannia dies and though it is a scotty dog I thought it would pass muster for a Havanese.
Entering into the following challenges:
International Art & Soul #43 Layer it up.

Silhouettes.

I'm nursing another swollen ankle (the right one this time) from being bittern whilst out in the garden. Doesn't seem to matter how much I cover myself  up. The little blighters still manage to get me. Why can't they pick on someone their own size!! Back on pills and steroid cream to get the inflammation down and trying to keep off my feet as much as I can.  Good job the following cards had already been made.
It is time for some more inspiration for the Butterfly challenge which has another week to run still.
#108 Spin The Butterfly Wheel With The Letter S.

My first card is using Sahara Sand/ Silhouette/ Butterfly.
The digi image is by Bugaboo called Flower Bubble Tag. I printed out and then fussy cut right up to the outside line of the tag. Trimmed a piece of Sahara Sand coloured cardstock to size and punched the corners with my Xcut rounder tool.  Base card is black cardstock and the pearl which hides the tag hole is from my stash. A gold sticker sentiment completes the look so I now have at least one sympathy card in my to use box.

My second card is using all the elements of the wheel.
Scarlet/Sea Green/ Sahara Sand/ Sequins/Spots/Silhouette/ Butterfly.
The digi image is again by Bugaboo and called Silhouette Humming Bird Flowers.
I found some black shinny dot stickies in my stash and used these to decorate around the circle edge.
Sequins were adhered to the flower centres and the Happy Birthday sentiment is also a black sticky.
The design paper is a freebie from Making Cards Magazine June 2013 called Busy Bees.

hope to see you playing along

Condolences.

It never rains but it pours it seems. Whilst we were having all the ensuing problems with the drains and internet I received a phone call to tell me that my cousins husband had died from a brain tumour.
When we had seen him at my  Dad's funeral last September he had been fine but by December had been diagnosed and surgery done to remove as much as they could. We all thought he was doing ok so the phone call was a bolt out of the blue. Needless to say I didn't have a card made ready to hand so sorted through my digi files where I knew I had some ready printable images with words attached.
This one is by  Pink Petticoat called Dandelion Wisps. I printed off and then used my pearlescent chalks to just highlight the centres of the flowers and the words. Adhered to a slightly larger piece of matching blue cardstock and then to the basecard. I printed off a second flower with no sentiment for the inside of the card.
