In The Beginning.

Time flies. I started this blog on 29th January 2010 and little did I know then that I would still be here blogging away all these years later and with such a great bunch of friends. Thankyou for constantly being around.
So another card using up some  those white scraps that I had previously die cut/embossed.

The die cut frame is by Marianne Design 'Basic Shapes CR1334.' The rose stamp is by Clearly Besotted called 'Sweet Rose'. I am no good colouring with pencils but I do like to paint using different mediums. Here I have used distressed inks stamped onto my craft mat, spritzed with water and picked up with a fine paint brush. The rose was painted using a combination of fried brick and spiced marmalade with forest moss for the leaves and background.  The embossed piece I placed back into the folder  (linning back up with the pattern) but before closing back down I swiped the fired brick ink pad across the inside of the top layer of the embossing folder .This resulted in only the background  picking up the colour and leaving the rose and leaves white. The folder is by Crafts-Too but has no name. I had lots of the distress ink colours still on my craft mat so I used several strips of white cards stock to mop them up. I used two strips up for the inside of the card along with the 'Woodware ' sentiment.

Entering this card into the following challenges:
Daisy Chain challenges #81 No designer paper.
I Spy With My little Eye #11 Hearts and/or roses.

This is what  was on my very first post back in 2010. Hand felted slippers. I wore them into the ground and eventually when the holes in the soles got too big to repair reluctantly binned but not before rescuing the Italian buttons which I still have!!

Hugs

It's always so fun to see your cards and this is a beauty. The colors look so good together and bring Spring into our dreary weather. I like that embossing folder you used. Those felted slippers look so warm and cozy. Congratulations on your blogging anniversary. I'm so glad you are still blogging and not just using Instagram.

Hi Mrs A,
you have been blogging 2years longer thatn I have.
Can't believe how those years have gone so quickly.
I have been making cards for about nearly 30 years now.
Love this wonderful card made with you scraps of white card.
That die cut is very pretty and your rose stamp is gorgeous.
Your colouring is fab too.
I cannot colour with alchol markers any more but can use water colour pencils or distress inks to colour okay.
For some reason my eye problem just won't let me colour inside the lines with alchol markers now.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Happy Blog Anniversary Mrs A!! Time flies, and so quickly! Love those slippers, how many work to make them! Italian buttons? I have never known that we have buttons fabrics, there is always something new to discover!
Great use of your recovered white scraps. Love this card, great watercolouring and the embossed panel have a beautiful Art Nouveau feel. I think to have that Clearly Besotted rose, came with a magazine years ago. Now buy magazines from UK to Italy is too much expensive, such a shame.

Happy blogversary! I’m loving seeing you use your scraps in different ways, and producing such pretty results. Those slippers are adorable, I’ve never seen felted ones before, they look very comfortable, so can imagine how hard it was to part with them xxx

Forgot to say congratulations on your blog anniversary - hang in there. So many people seem to have drifted off to other platforms which I think is a shame.

So interesting to see the history of your blog!
I have not been commenting very often, but I enjoy reading your blog(s) and to get inspired. Thank you for your good ideas!

I like how you coloured this card and used the leftover colours. Im a bit like that, too, trying to use what is useable.

Hugs and blessings from Switzerland,

Happy 14th Blog Anniversary Mrs A., just think how many cards/projects you have created and shared over the years! The slippers from your first post look beautifully made-and very warm and comfortable, it's good to know you got plenty of wear out of them. Your card today is lovely, beautifully coordinated and great use of those snippets.

That's a shame about the lovely slippers but I had to smile about the buttons as I am a bit obsessed and hardly dare admit to how many I have. Sending hugs Angela xXx
