Explosion Box.

I'm entering the following into Pixies Crafty Workshop #329 as I have used loads of snippets up.

I had a commission for a 70th Birthday card for a friends Aunt. The brief was that the Aunt was a keen gardener and loves flowers, all colours. I mulled it over for a bit and finally came up with an Explosion Box.  I had made one years ago and watched a video again just to remind myself of the measurements needed.
This is rather a picture heavy post, but I didn't take any pictures of work in progress so this is just the finished box. My friend was delighted with it and wouldn't stop hugging me when I gave it to her and couldn't wait to give it to her Aunt.
It was a nice sunny day so I took the photos outside and I will let them do all the talking.

and finally the centre piece.

Wow, this is fabulous and a great idea for a special birthday card. I made quite a few of these back in the day and may revisit the idea now you've reminded me about them!

This is just spectacular!! As if the explosion box weren't enough, you even added that gorgeous pot of flowers to the center. A gift within a gift is sure to have thrilled the recipient and no wonder your friend couldn't stop hugging you. I haven't even had the courage to try a simple explosion box, with all that measuring and cutting, so I am so impressed.

Hi Mrs. A, a fantastic and stunning birthday card to celebrate a milestone birthday. So many beautiful elements to look at, sure to please the recipient as much as your friend. It had come in nice time as I've been thinking of making one for Dad's 70th... Thank you for the inspiration... Megan

Wowser - what a fabulous, fabulous card my friend! It's much more than a card of course though -I bet the recipient will be totally delighted! Well done you!

And I did giggle about your colour schemes in your first home with the Doc. We had all of those colours as well - only in different rooms to yours. What are we like?! Don't answer that one!!
