New Home

I am probably not going to be feeling up to much later today after the Dental Procedure so I am posting a card that I made a week ago for our neighbours who have just moved home. I am also resetting the Butterfly Challenge  to run for a further week as grappling with the above and anything blogger throws at me in trying to get the new challenge posted will be too vexing. I have already been booted out of my account and had to reset it. Not sure if that was a Google or Blogger problem but one I could still do without.

This card was about 3 weeks on and off  in the making as I took my time in doing each bit of the elements.

Basic shape is an easel card. I wanted to make the roof look like it was tiled so I played around with various ideas and finally settled on using a scallop Loop Edge die from Die'sire. The die is quite a long one so I managed to get a continuous strip for each row of tiles and attached to the roof in a cascading manner on each side. It took a few goes to get it right but I am pretty pleased with the result. The walls were created using a Docrafts  Wooden Boards Background stamp. Stamping in black ink and then aging with distress ink to get a weathered look. That is the name of their New House so I created in word and printed off. The window is four square flat pearls.
Side view of the card. The layers of tiles on the roof made it a tad top heavy so it needed  an extra strip placed inside the card base and the front of the card just slips into the space created and stays in place. I did use a tiny rose printed paper for the inside walls to make it look like wallpaper which you can just about see.
I used various small grass stamps and Lavinia's Bluebell stamp to create the flower garden on the front and the back wall below.  The New Home Sentiment was created in word and printed off and used as the easel step.
The New Neighbours  got a slightly scaled down version!! They did like it though.

Now I am probably going to regret this but I just might turn my blog over to ' Norm' for a short spell (whilst I am recuperating from said tooth op) as he has been badgering me non stop to get on here since lockdown began.  He is very  eager to show you his prize tomatoes. He has been told 'On No Account'  is he to touch the Try The New Blogger Button.

This is so wonderful. I love every little detail! The roof looks perfect and the flat square pearls for the window was a great idea!

This new blogger is horrid! I think it will be a lengthy adjustment period for us all...

I love your New Home card, the roof is fantastic as are the walls and the gorgeous flowers that you've stamped around the outside. Using square pearls for the windows was a great idea. The Welcome card you made for the new neighbours is lovely too. Good luck at the dentist today.

Such wonderful attention to detail - this is a fabulous card which I'm sure your former neighbours will treasure. All the best for your upcoming tooth op and I hope it all goes well and isn't too uncomfortable for you. I switched to new Blogger fairly early on and it started out fine but now each time I go on to write a post something different seems to happen - not all good happenings either!!

I just love this. What a clever idea for the roof - wouldn't have thought of that but it looks so authentic. Good luck with your dental procedure - can't think of anything worse that going to the dentist. Mind you, the New Blogger is definitely giving it a run for its' money. So far, I haven't come across anyone who is happy with the changed and that isn't running into untold issues. I'm of the opinion, if it ain't broke then leave it alone.
Oh dear, I think you have enough to deal with at the moment - without having to deal with Norm taking over your blog. I hope he realises that you really need him to behave himself.

Wowser!! What a stunning easel card - more like paper engineering than card making! Oh I do love both cards - clever you. I hope you're doing OK after the dental surgery - it all sounds pretty dramatic - but the end result will be worth it for sure! Take it easy my friend.
