Gift Card Wallet.

A new challenge has started over on the Butterfly challenge.

Kobe/Kelly Green/Kobi/Kite /Knot It /Kraft card/Butterfly.
I  had to use my ingenuity for this wheel and yes those colours really do exist!

Kobe  is a Dark tone of Red
Kobi is a  Pale Pink Magenta

As usual I have some inspiration cards to share with you.
My first one uses Kraft Card/Kelly Green/Butterfly.

I recently attended a Frame Art Craft class by  Julie Hickey and we had enough time in the afternoon to complete a card as well. I added the butterfly and the sentiment to finish the card when I returned home.  The stamp is by Julie Hickey called 'Flower Garden'. Stamped onto Kraft card, embossed with Wow metalic silver embossing powder and then painted in using Distress ink pads which were stamped out onto a pallet. The colour was  picked up using a water brush. I really loved the soft colours against the kraft card. The butterfly is cut from a vellum design sheet and I even managed to use 'Knot It'for the antenna which were made from black embroidery cord with a knot in the end of each one.  The sentiment is a freebie magazine stamp which I embossed with the same colour of Wow embossing powder onto a scrap of white cardstock. Distressed round the edges with a kraft colour ink pad.

My second  uses Knot It/Kobi/Butterfly.

As I haven't been doing much crafting due to my duff shoulder I have been watching quite a few Tutorials on You Tube instead  and rather liked this idea of making an envelope card wallet  to house a gift card.
The actual card is made from one whole piece of double sided paper. I made mine from a 10" square. It is really very simple to do the folds and there is only one part that needs to be glued together.  I added a border to the back using my Martha Stewart lacy edge punch.  The sentiment is made using my latest acquisition namely the WRMK Punch Board for letters and numbers. I love it!!! So easy to use with very little pressure needed.  The die cut flower was left over from  a  previous card I had made and not needed.
The tutorial I was watching just tucked the gift card inside the wallet but I added an extra pocket on the back to hold  a gift card or money in place.  I made the closure using a large and then a smaller button on the inside of the flap and using thin string which I knotted  and then left long enough to wrap round the front button to close.

The challenge runs for the normal 2 weeks and hope to see you soon.

Owls about it.

It feels like January should have come and gone by now but it still has ten days to go and the weather is set to get very cold here.
Anyway it is time for the girls once more in the Christmas Card Club to show our latest makes. Sylvie set the challenge theme  of Cute.  Now everyone has their own definition of cute so hope that this card that I made and sent to the recipient last year but not posted on my blog will pass muster as my arm is not really improving much and am trying not to craft for long periods at the moment.

My lovely blogging friend has a bit of a  thing for Owls (pretty much like I do for Butterflies) so it was a bit of a no brainer to make this card for her.
Stamp is by The House of Zandra and called 'Barny'. The stamps are no longer in production so I'm glad that I purchased the few that I do have. (I think that you can get some of the range in CD format though). I have coloured with my promarkers/Graph'it pens/gold gel pen/pearescent chalks and then die cut out using my Crafts-Too Square dies scalloped edge Ref PCD77. Sentiment from my stash. The papers were all leftover snippets that went well with the image after I had coloured it in.

Lattice work

A new challenge has started over on the Butterfly blog.

#115 Spin The Butterfly Wheel with the Letter Y.

As usual I have some inspiration cards to share with you. My first one uses all the seven elements on the wheel.

Yale blue/ Yew/Yellow/ Your Choice/Yarn/You/Butterfly
I cose 'Stitching' as my Your Choice  element

Design paper is a freebie from Making Cards magazine 'Nancy Watt collection '. The die cut is by Presscut 'Oval Frame PCD35' set which I cut using Yellow and Yew cardstock.  The butterfly is by Wplus9 Flora & Fauna stamp set which I have coloured using all three colours and my promarkers. The oval die has a hole design around it so I used embroidery thread which is a variegated blue colour to stitch round the edge. This was my 'Your Choice' element. The Thank YOU
sentiment is a silver sticker from my stash and I used My SU punch to cut out.

My Second card for you today just  uses
Yale blue/ Butterfly

I found this pretty design paper in my stash and thought it matched the Digi Stamp 4 Joy image called 'flower Frame' perfectly so I coloured the image using my promarkers in the same colours as the paper.  The paper was a freebie from Making Cards magazine Jun 2016 called June flowers. The  Best Wishes sentiment is by Xcut. 3D butterfly sticker was in my stash.
I have kept colouring to a minimum as shoulder is still sore though improving slowly.

Nordic Rudolph

There is a new Christmas Challenge just started  called  Christmas Kickstart  Challenge and as I short changed myself at the weekend (only managing to make 5 cards) I thought I would make one to enter, especially as the theme is Rudolph and I had just the stamp I wanted to use.  Mind you it has only  taken me 2 days to make as I decided to fussy cut the image out after I had coloured it in!!

Stamp is by Crafter's Companion called 'Nordic Christmas Cheer.' The embossing folder is also by Crafter's Companion and called 'Reindeer Parade'. I stamped the image out onto watercolour card and coloured using my promarkers. Fussy cut and then added the gold glitter glue and the gold sticker stars on his saddle.  Christmas sentiment was from my stash which I had bought at the NEC last year. Button and glitter thread just happened to be out on my desk so I used them here. Well rude not to and saved me having to put away.

Blossom

Time is flying and we are already into the 2nd week of the current Butterfly Challenge

#114 Spin The butterfly wheel with the Letter I

I had intended to show  2 more inspiration cards but my shoulder is still stiff and as it is my writing arm is restricting my movements so I have just made one card with all the Seven Elements of the wheel.
Imperial Purple/Iceberg/Ivory/ Invitation/ Include a die cut/ Image (stamp or digi) Butterfly.

Design paper is a digi paper by 'Blossom Paper Arts' from their Blue Bird series paper no 1807 6.
The Die cut flowers are Spellbinders 'Roses' and the frame is by 'Press Cut 'Stitched hole rectangle die. The butterfly is a stamp by 'Kaiser Craft' Texture Butterfly set coloured with my Promarkers and then fussy cut out.  Invitation printed out in word. The gems were in my stash. A fairly simple card but still took me all morning to prepare.

Snowflakes.

Apologies for this post going up late. The Doc had a phone call early  this morning to say that an  Aunt had died so I needed to sort a card out to be sent.
It is the start of the New Year and it is time for the girls in the Christmas Card Club to get started on our swag for 2019.  Christine  has set the first theme which is snowflakes.
I had a search through my Christmas papers and found several snowflake designs plus some toppers and these cards are the result.
First two cards have design papers by LOTV from their 'Krafty Christmas' paper pad. The toppers were freebies in a magazine  late last year. The wooden snowflakes were in my stash. I finished round the edges with a silver glitter glue pen and on the snowflake.

Third card again uses a topper from the same set as previous two cards. The papers were freebies from the same magazine. The snowflakes have been in my stash for years. I purchased from Poundland I think in a large packet of assorted colours. These ones are pink (hence not been used) but they went perfectly with the colours in the design papers which just goes to show that if kept long enough you will find a use for it! Gems from my stash.

Fourth  card uses a freebie topper sheet from Making cards  December 2015 'Traditional Christmas' which I have teamed with some cardboard snowflake shapes from my stash. I coloured using a Nuvo Glitter Marker 'Imperial Blue' and when dry added a silver glitter glue over the top for good measure. They really do sparkle.

Winter Wonderland #It's Snowtime.
Daisy Chain Challenges #26 Add some sparkle.

Fifth card uses a topper from the same set as the card above but this time I have made into an Easel Card. Additional snow flakes are white peel off stickers (from my stash of many years) which just have the number 121001/5204 on the back of the sheet. I believe they are Scandinavian origin.  Design paper is a magazine freebie from last year.  I adhered the circles to blank card and fussy cut finishing with my handy T.H. distress edger tool. Silver glitter glue enhanced  not only the circles but also the sticker snowflakes.

Entering this card into the following challenges;
12 Months of Christmas #49 Anything goes =optional anything but rectangle.
Simply Create Too #145 Anything goes /no twist.
Love To Craft #30 Anything goes.

P.S.
I had intended to make six cards but I have managed to do something to my left shoulder so sitting at my desk for long periods is not very pleasant at the moment. Five had me knackered and I was going to take photos in the morning to include in this post but this mornings events decided  otherwise .

Thankyou.

The butterflies are back and a new challenge has started over on the butterfly blog.  Joy of joys, I  have used the last of the Ducks eggs up now too!!!

#114 Spin The Butterfly Wheel with the Letter I.

Without further ado here are my inspiration cards for you.

1st card using Ivory/Invitation/ Image (a stamp) and a Butterfly.

Stamp used is by Studio Light and coloured using my promarkers and a silver gel pen.  I thought the stamp would look good as an invitation card.  stamped out onto white cardstock, coloured and then adhered to Ivory cardstock for the card base.  Silver invitation sticker and  silver lines from my stash.

Entering the card above into the following challenges:
Passion for Promarkers #474 Add a sentiment.
Though The Craftroom Door # Anything goes.
Crafting By Designs # Anything goes.
Unicorn Challenge #39 Things with wings.

2nd Card  uses Imperial Purple/ Ivory/Butterfly.
At first glance the colours on the wheel this time are a bit somber but by adding in other brighter colours I think that it works.  The butterfly is from a decoupage kit. It was already made when I purchased from a Craft Shop and was in their bits and bobs box so I do not have a name for it.  I have matched to purple cardstock and then pink for the card base.  Thankyou sticker from my stash.
