Hexagon Butterflies

I'm no longer receiving email notification when someone leaves a coment on my blog. Is anyone else having the same problem or know how to sort it?

Just one more week left of the Celebration Butterfly challenge so here are two more cards for your inspiration.

1st card. Uses Hexagons/Harvest Gold/ Hearts + Butterflies.
The hexagon stencil is by Memory Box called Honeycomb style no 88521 which I placed over the white card base and held in place whilst colouring with a graph'it pen through the stencil. The butterflies were on my desk from a previous card and hadn't used. They have small pearl hearts attached so were perfect to use for this card. The sentiment was a peel off from my stash.

 2nd card. Uses Hexagons/Hot Pink + Butterfly.
 I used white card stock for The hexagons which  are an SU embossing folder  called Honeycomb. I   trimmed down to size and  adhered to the white card base.  I ran a second piece of card through the EF and cut the individual hexagons needed for the sentiment which I coloured with a graph'it pen. Letters are clear stamps  from Clarity's letter pack set and the No 4  from a Clear Stamp Alpha SML but the package does not say the makers name.  The butterfly is a stamp by Marianne design Clear stamps set CS0927 and coloured with my graph'it pens.

Trees Indoor or Out

Another 2 weeks sped by but don't ask me where.  It's time again for the girls in the christmas Card club to show our latest makes. The theme was set by Shaz who asked for Christmas Trees indoor or out. Quick rummage in my used  christmas card box turned up 3 reusable ones so here they are.

1st Card.
I didn't want to detract from this image so I trimmed to neaten  and just layered using white card and then navy blue for the card base. Sentiment is a silver sticker from my stash.

2nd Card.
I trimmed the card down quite a bit as I wanted to create a panel with it. The base card is made with black cardstock and the design paper is a freebie from Making Cards magazine Paper Craft Special  2017. I made the base from 8" wide card and scored at 3" to make the fold. The tree was adhered to a slightly larger piece of black card and then mounted on the 3" folded card to hang over the edge.

3rd Card.

Uses a freebie design paper from Making Cards Magazine Christmas Edition 2015 called ' Festive Family '. the base card is made from beige cardstock. I trimmed the card front to neaten and then adhered to a slightly larger piece of the beige cardstock. This was then attached to the design paper using 3D pads for dimension. The tree had a few random baubles hanging on it which I covered with gold gems to match the sparkle and also added one to the star at the top of the tree. 

Another 3 cards done and dusted and added to my Christmas card pile. I'm off to see what all the other girls in the club have come up with but not before I pop my card into the following challenge.

More Cat Post.

More trauma for us in this past week with The Docs 91yr old Aunt having a fall in her home and being found by one of the neighbours on the floor having banged her head and unable to get up. She was in a very confused state and is now in hospital. Not doing too well at present  so we are on tender hooks . She is a very independent lady and won't take help from any one but that will all have to change now.

My grandson enjoyed his jigsaw cats in his last happy mail so I made some more to enclose in with this card but the devil got into me and I turned the cat up side down on the reverse  just to make it harder and chose two very similar cat colours. ( I'm so wicked!).
Here is the card I made for him. Using a freebie digi by  Sliekjestamps No 197. Coloured with my promarkers and using a card base from my stash.  I just rounded the edges of the image with my Xcut chomper.

Camellia Blossom

Another card for the Butterfly Challenge #100th Celebrations.
This time I have used Hot Pink with Hexagons and the Butterflies.
I made a base card hexagon shape in white cardstock and then a smaller one in hot pink cardstock.
The image is by Woodware ' Camellia'  which I have coloured in with my Graph'it marker pens and then outlined using a gold gel pen. I have a Camellia bush in my front garden which has dark pink flowers. They are mostly all finished now but I wanted to capture the colours of the blooms as they  start to fade and then fall off.



 Here is the card with one of the fallen blooms . The butterflies are SU die cuts . The set is no longer available to buy which is a shame as it was a popular one .The sentiment is a gold sticker from my stash.



I'm rather pleased with how this card turned out.
The challenge is running for  further 2 weeks and closes on 5th June. Hope you can find time to join in spinning the wheel.

Nurse Chris

I have a lovely blogging friend whose husband has just undergone surgery and is now recovering at home being ably looked after by my friend. I thought they could both do with cheering up so sent this card to them. It has been received so can show now.

The digi image is of course 'Stella Peeker Nursing' by Bugaboo and coloured with my Promarkers.

I created the sentiment in word and printed off. Punched out using my SU Decorative label.

Ten Green Bottles +0ne

It was The Docs birthday last week and this is the card I made for him. The stamps were free in a Creative Stamping  Magazine and are by Clear Impressions. I wanted to do a row of bottles so I stamped out the image 10 times and then fussy cut just the bottle out. Coloured with my pro markers and then glued to the front of the card adding shading around each of the bottles. Stamped the vine leaves and the sentiment onto the white card and then used my Xcut  chomper to round the edges off.
Matted onto green cardstock and rounded the edges again.  I used white cardstock to make the base card and adhered to the front of the card.

  I then stamped the complete image onto more of the green card and placed inside the card to write my message along side it.

 

I wish I was making the rest of this up but I'm truly not. I'm under attack from all angles.

 



I have had more trauma this past week with the same account being hacked again. 3 times is a hack too far so I phoned the company and told them to close my account with them as whoever was doing it was not going to stop. I'd had the account with them since 2003 and used it a lot for online shopping but my sanity (what is left of it) is more important than being able to shop on line.Company concerned said the hack was done away from their web sites, my computer keeps coming back squeaky clean. Passwords have been changed so don't know how they are doing it.

 

Then I got bitten in the garden by a Tick. The little blighter was hanging on for dear life and having a good feed. Didn't realise what it was to start with until later in the evening when my arm was itchy and a red patch with a brown blob in it began to throb. Under a magnifier glass you could see its little legs waving around in the air. The Doc managed to get it out with tweezers  and it made a popping sound as it lost its grip on me! So one phone call to the surgery in the morning and I was given a prescription for precautionary antibiotics to start taking if a bulls eye  ring around the bite appeared as this is a sign of Lymes Desease . (Nearly gave myself a heart attack looking at the pictures on line.)

Sat in the garden later on in the day with The Doc waiting  for the chemists to open so I could pick up the pills when I noticed a blob on The Docs leg and on inquiring  he said " oh its just a blood blister" so I sent him inside for the magnifying glass and yep he had one too.  Tried to pull this one out as well  but it left a bit of the head in so we both toddled off round to the surgery where the chemist confirmed a bit of the head was still there and sent him in to see the nurse who said she couldn't do anything as there was no body left to pull it out with.  We are now both on Bullseye Alert and waiting to see which of us needs the antibiotics first!!!!

 

 I will get round to commenting on your blogs asap.   Bugs who'd have em!!

All 7 Elements

It is week two of the month long Butterfly challenge  #100th celebrations.
Here is another card for your inspiration where I have used all the elements from the Butterfly Wheel.

The stamp used is  Poppy by Inklicious. I have heat embossed with gold embossing powder and coloured the poppies using all 3 colours and my Graph'it markers.  Image is mounted onto a strip of green vellum and then onto a base of hot pink  cardstock. Finally adhered to a white card base.  I made a belly band for the closure which uses  the hexagons and hearts to decorate. The sentiment and gold hearts were from my stash along with the pink SU butterfly and gold gems.

Sentiment Cards

Time again for the girls in the Christmas Card Club to show our next makes. The theme was set this time by Carol who asked to see cards with the sentiment as the focus.
I'm back to making some more Joy Fold Cards and using up some pf the stash of freebie design paper I have in my Christmas Box.  These papers are all from  Making Cards magazine 'Christmas Papercrafts Special 2017 and have a contemporary look to them.
Card 1.

This one is made using brown craft cardstock and a tiny rudolph paper along with some cream card stock. The sentiment came on a sheet to use with the papers . Now I couldn't find any more thin red ribbon than what is used for the tag so I made an acetate belly band as the closure instead and then used acetate on the tag front too. Thought it worked quite well and the acetate doesn't hide the sentiment which is what the card is all about after all. Inside shown below. 

Card 2.

This card uses two contrasting papers of the same design on cream and copper shimmer cardstock. I had plenty of thin white ribbon to hand so used for the closure . Again the sentiment came from the same sheet as above. Inside of card shown below with the contrasting papers.

 

Card 3.

This design paper is really contemporary but I think it works perfectly with the wreath sentiment. I love the little rows of christmas trees.  I have used craft card and cream card stock for the bases. Inside of card below.

Card 4.
Couldn't not resort to using an old christmas card front from the christmas box now could I + the acetate was already out so why not use them both!! I trimmed the card front down slightly and cut a piece of acetate of the same size and adhered together by making holes and adding red bads from my stash. Mounted 3D pads on the back and adhered to plain cream stock and then brown cardstock for the base card. The little bauble embellishments were left over from a previous project making christmas box bags so I tied together with a piece of thin string which just happened to be on my desk and matched the card colours.

So 4 more cards to swell the numbers a bit but I am still way off target. I'm off to see what the other girls in the club have come up with.

Happy Post.

I haven't shown of late the Happy Post I send to my Grandson each week. He loves getting his own letters and loves cats. I have gone through all the letters of the alphabet for adding jokes inside his card (was that a huge sigh of relief I just heard!!) so in this card I decided to add a jigsaw of a cat using my Xcut Jigsaw die cut. Just to make it more interesting/difficult I pasted a cat on each side of the card before die cutting.
Here is the card that I made.

The image is a free digi from Sliekjestamps and is number 315. I have coloured using my Promarkers and die cut using a Nellie Snellen Straight Dotted Rectangle. The card base is from a pack in my stash.

#100 Celebrations

The  Butterfly Challenge is marking it's #100th challenge today and has extra special prizes to be won in celebration of the event. The challenge will also be running for 4 weeks so plenty of time for you to enter your cards.
#100 Spin The Butterfly wheel with the Letter H.

Here is my inspiration for you .

1st card uses the colour Hot Pink, Heat Embossing and Butterflies.
The stamp set is by Studio Light.
I have several of their stamps now and they really are a delight to use. They stamp out perfectly. I used this one in my Misti tool as I was heat embossing the image after having stamped it out first. I used Silver embossing powder on the flower head ,stem and leaves. The markings on the butterflies I thought to be too intricate so I used a silver gel pen to enhance after having coloured using a blue Promarker. The flower has been coloured in using my Graph'it markers. The wording  has become a firm favourite with me and is a digi  by Digi Stamp Boutique  'Birthday Mr Bear' sentiment. I like that I can print it out in various sizes to fit the card I am making. I mounted the finished coloured image onto pale green card stock and then adhered to a white card base. The sentiment was mounted onto green then white card and finally onto the green card stock below the image. I love how this card turned out.



 2nd card uses the colour Harvest Gold, Hexagons and Butterflies.

The stamp set is by Studio Light.
I have coloured in using my Graph'it markers. Mounted the finished image onto white leather cardstock already die cut from a previous card and then adhered to the same cardstock made into the card base.The sentiment is a gold sticker from my stash which I have mounted onto 3 consecutive hexagon die cuts and then raised up on 3D pads.  The die is by Xcut.

3rd card uses the colour Hunters Green, Hearts and Butterflies.
The card base is made from silver satin cardstock to which I have mounted a sheet of  green vellum held in place by the silver corner stickers. The hearts and butterflies are from my stash and a part of several different ones that my lovely blogging pal Di gave to me a long time ago now and I am slowly/reluctantly using up on my cards.  The sentiment/numbers are  silver stickers from my stash.

I finished off the inside of the card with two additional panel's and added more hearts to embellish.

Six and Fourteen.

Internet has been playing up big time again and only just managed this evening to get back on.  Good job I have some cards not shown yet as Mojo has gone on walk about as well.  These two were made last month for Anniversaries' in that month so safe to show now.
First one is for a Sixth Anniversary which the web tells me is depicted by Iron and Calla Lillies.
I had just bought this stamp from Studio Light which was perfect to use for the image. I coloured with my Promarkers  and then backed the image with silver pearlescent  paper for the iron element.
I used white ivory card stock and cut the frame  using my Crafts-Too Rectangle  Stitch hole dies PCD98. Silver stickers for the sentiment and the number from my stash.

 I used word to create a backing paper as the insert for the inside of the card and printed off.

Second card was for a Fourteenth Anniversary which the web tells me is depicted by Ivory and Dahlias. This stamp is another by Studio Light and worked perfectly. I coloured with my Promarkers.

The picture doesn't show it but I have attached acetate in front of the image and sandwiched between the frame work. Card base is made using cream watercolour cardstock. The die cut frame is by Nellie Snellen  'Straight Dotted Rectangle'. Gold sentiment stickers from my stash. 





Again I used word to create a backing paper as the insert for the inside of the card.
