Waterfall.

I don't know about waterfall it was more like watershed making this card. Nearly didn't come into being. First I used too much glue for sticking the little squares on and it left glue marks, so covered those up with the glitter glue I had already used around the butterflies. Phew!
Then I added the glitter glue around the trellis work, stood the card up to leave to dry and promptly knocked it off the work top and like any good piece of buttered toast it landed on the carpet glue side down. Retrieved from carpet and picked off all the carpet hairs which were now attached to the trellis work. Phew!!
Next I decided that the colour of the ribbon pull (in daylight) really clashed with the design paper so removed it. Only problem was in my wisdom I had secured with a small staple so the pretty scalloped bottom had to go. Not enough tag left to recut the scallop so a straight cut had to suffice. Pink ribbon looks much better. Phew!!!
Then I attached the gems with glue. Got to the last gem and could I find it? Nope and I sure did look for it, so out with the gem box and glue another one in place.
Finally ready to take the pictures and thats when I found where it went to!!!! See last piccy.

The following photo's show how the mechanism works as you pull on the tag.

And finally the back of the card!

I made the card for the second weeks inspiration for the current Butterfly challenge. (Iv'e thrown the how not to's in for free).

Still time to enter as the challenge doesn't close till next Tuesday. Hope to see you there.

Finally
I'm entering into Pixie's Crafty workshop # 303/304   cos I used loads of snippets up (Twice!)

If your looking for either Di or myself we are behind the bike sheds quaffing copious glasses of wine.
Note to Parsnip. Don't you even think of snitching on us!!.

Sounds as if you deserved at least one glass of wine after that marathon. A long time since I saw (or made) a waterfall card and reading your saga I probably realise why I've not made one for a while. The result is lovely and dare I say it worth the effort - just right for the butterfly challenge and the Snippets challenge too. Parsnip isn't a snitch, or is he????

Fabulous card, Mrs A, worth all the hiccups along the way. Talking of hiccups, I wonder if you had any after drink all that wine behind the bike sheds! ;-) I keep meaning to try to make one of these waterfall cards, I've got the instructions filed away somewhere from a magazine. You've given me the inspiration to get them out! xx

...that should read 'drinking' not 'drink!

Oh I did enjoy reading the trials of this card (sorry, but it makes me feel good to know I'm not the only one doing stuff of this sort, and I'm not attempting anything complex like you've done here!) Love the idea of the waterfall, and the marbled background looks fabulous. The gems sparkle and I love the glitter glue too. (you know you can color the ribbon, right?) and what a chuckle to see where your missing gem landed! been there, done that. It's a gorgeous card, and you get a BIG A for beauty effort and perseverance! TFS & Hugs

The card is awesome but the technique sounds like my everyday crafting adventure. I can't seem to get through one card without some kind of whoopsie.

Hehe, yes I see what you mean. It's so pretty though and very clever. I thought you were going to say the gem was stuck to your face, I've done that before. Always check the mirror before leaving home. x

I would have been by earlier, Anne, but I - well, in truth, I WAS by earlier. Then what happened was, I got so bedraggled after reading the trials and tribulations and contortionings that you went through to complete this gorgeous watershed card, I had to go have a lie down! Like for DAYS! You are truly an inspiration for sticktoitivity, I'll tell you!! It turned out just beautiful and a bit of glitter and glue gives carpeting a certain pahnash!! Hugs, Darnell

Fabulous waterfall card my friend! Well done for Percy Veerance - they're not easy to make at the best of times - I think I've only ever made two in all these years of playing with paper. LOVE the colours as well. Hic!
