Take an old drinks can ,die cuts
and some alcohol markers and what do you get !!
I saw Mary do something wonderful with an empty soda can on her blog
and filed it away for future use as I had an idea for using tin.
Skip forward a few months and I was ready to have a go myself.
I had carefully kept a couple of tins which I had washed out and left to dry.
Surprisingly, cutting them up was really easy.
The tin sheets went through my Big Shot with no problems too.
This is the result.
I wanted to make an anniversary card to depict 10yrs (tin).
The anniversary was yesterday and the card has been received
so I can now show and tell.
DP is by Raspberry Road 'Ancient Age Collection no1.'

Spellbinders 'Rose Creations Die for the flower and leaf.

This is another gadget I have a love/hate relationship with.
I'm told I'm not rough enough with it so this time I went to town on it!

It's lovely, and perfect for the anniversary card!
I've cut up a tin can before but never used one in my Big Shot (yet) - still on my 'to do list'.
Hope you have a nice weekend xx
Great idea Mrs A, the flowers are fab. Debbiex
Hi Mrs A
What a genius idea. Not sure my Grand Calibur would stand the tin action so will admire rather than copy.
Best wishes.

WOW, WOW, WOW! That flower is amazing and I LOVE the colors! Thanks for joining us at Technique Time Tuesday! HUGS and have a happy weekend! :) Mynn xx
What a gorgeous flower! I have used this technique myself in the past, you can even diecut really fine and intricate scrolly patterns! The most dangerous thing, of course, is cutting the can up, after that it's pretty much safe.
Sorry it's taken me a day or so to get round to your lovely card.
Thanks for sharing this fabulous card with us

Brilliant idea though I have never been brave enough to try it myself. Thank you for playing at CCM&M this time. Cindy
What a perfect 10th anniversary card! I have some little flowers made of soda cans. They have long stems and I've stuck them in a plant thinking I'd use them for inspiration. They weren't colored though. Yours are much prettier!
Who would have thought they were tin? They are stunning!! I just love the card and I am so glad you shared!! Thanks for linking up at Die Cutting Divas. Scrappy hugs, Connie
Wow, your card is amazing.Great recycle project. TFS your beautiful creation at DCD.
How clever! I love how the flower turned out on your fab card. Thanks for joining us at The Squirrel and The Fox. Lisa DT
Clever you to think of the 'tin' for the 10th anniversary. I am so loving this beautiful rose and on a step card to boot! Magnificent. Thanks for the shoutout, but this one makes my little b'fly look measley by far! Well done on this one. It's just gorgeous, and I'm so glad you got highlighted so I could pop over to enjoy it. TFS & Big Hugs.
Oops, forgot to say: for all those with the GCalibur, I think it would handle the soda cans (or beer cans...whatever) just fine. The material is really very thin. I will try it in the GC and report back, but I truly think it would be ok. I've used the CBug and it cut it great too. I just use the Big Shot more often.
Going to try the tin cutting idea! This is a beautiful step card, perfect for the occasion, I'm sure the recipients were amazed! Thanks for joining in with our last challenge at TTT, thank you for your support too
Louise xx
Brilliant card Mrs A - your step card is perfect for the occasion. I'm not sure I would have the courage to put tin through my Cuttlebug though. Elizabeth xx
