On a Winters Day.

I haven't touched Scenes since this time last year so thought it high time that I got reacquainted with them.
Craft a Scene have a challenge this month  to create a snowy cottage scene. My scene is a digi from Delicious Doodles called 'On a Winters Day'.  As soon as I saw  this image I knew I  had to purchase it and a Red Cardinal digi  might just have accidentally  fallen into my shopping basket at the same time. (Some days I 'm all fingers and thumbs! Well thats the story I'm sticking to.)

I have coloured the image using Distress Markers and pearlescent chalks. A bit limited with my choice of pen  at the moment as I only purchased seven basic colours to try them out. Another seven are now on their way. (Don't tell baggage control!) The paper lace  panel under the ribbon is cut using a Tonic Studios pattern punch. I have layered up the image using two different blue card stock onto the white base card and rounded the edges on all. Sentiment was generated in word.

I tried taking a close up to show the pearlescent effect but the lighting is appalling even with two daylight bulbs on .

Entering into the following:
Craft a Scene: Snowy cottages.
Card Mania: Winter Wonderland.
Crafty Hazelnuts: A christmas card without Santa.
Simply Create too: Let it Snow.
Card Crafter's Circle: Theres no business like snow business.
Love to Create: Winter Wonderland.
Pan Pastel: Anything Goes.
Stampin for the Weekend: Anything Goes.
Glitter n Sparkle: Anything Goes.

A lovely card, Mrs A, but I am cross now. I had intended to use the same design for my next DT card so I shall have to think again. Seriously, though, I love what you have done with it, and perhaps the limited range of colours helps with an image like this. xx Maggie

Hullo Hullo Hullo Mrs A!!

..almost did not recognise you with your new profile image.

When your comment appeared on my blog I wondered is that my Mrs A.?, then thought how many can there be and so must!! and wow lovely blue eyes you have, just like my dad! his are from his Yorkshire family! china blue are his.. mine are my mother's blue grey/green eyes.
... well you have been on my mind cos finally have made your card to send to you (along with one for Bernie - Di's sick friend).. so should God willing be winging its way to you next week. Am finally making cards again..I have now made six this week!! Woohoo!

Now enough chatting I have a question.
Is the lovely pearlescent shimmer which could see on your card is from your pearlescent chalks. Cos I have some Docraft ones that are pearlescent but not sure they would be a pretty as that. i do love them though.
Superb card!
Of to peek at other things have not been here since the thirteen days of Christmas (in your case :D ) love Shaz in Oz.x

A gorgeous, gorgeous scene Mrs A! Your colouring is perfect, and I think you totally deserve those extra DI markers (The entire tub fell into my basket, but they were reduced by £20! Would've been wrong not too)
Thanks so much for joining us at Craft a Scene this month x
