Before & After..

No WOYWW to show you as my desk hasn't changed from last week.
Cough medicine and pills is about all thats on there.
Thought I would show you instead the two advent calendars I made from the christmas squares swap that I did. We had to send 1 metre of modern christmas fabric cut into 56 5" charm squares and received back 28 different prints with 2 squares of each. I used 24 on each for the pockets so still have 8 squares left to make into something else.
This is the first one I did prior to breaking my wrist.
and the second one that I was determined to make come what may which I managed by stitching the pockets on in a continous row and using my elbow to feed material through my sewing machine!
The boys haven't done a post this week as they say they have been busy up and down the stairs all day long looking after 'The Doc' (who has just had an operation and is all 'Stitched Up') and me.
Why not pop on over to Julias blog to see what everyone else has been up too.

You are one amazing woman! I wish I could see more detail in the photos - they both look fab!

You did an amazing job on both, especially the second as you were nearly plastered by then. I know both the boys are enjoying their advent calendars. The little treats inside are as thoughtful as the details on the outside. :) Love you. xxx

Hello Mrs A. Hope those boys are helping run after you and the Doc!
It's about time they did something other than swan about!!
Your advent hanger is lovely, I have one similar (in the shape of a tree0 and my kids (19 and 20) still like me to fill it up!!
Take care both. Debbiexx

Poor you and yours - you sound in the wars :( Going round all the WOYWW desks must be making you feel better though!
If you use your machine a lot, then the Janome is beautiful to use, quiet and just easy. JoZart recommended janome to me as she used to work for them and she's right, it's fab :)
Hope you are feeling better soon,
Hugs, LLJ #3 xx

Mrs. A., my you've been so crafty...so sorry you've broken your wrist. Love the pink cast though. The boys always bring a smile to my face seeing them and that elf - how cute!!! I just adore stopping by and seeing all the crafty things you've done - this quilt is gorgeous! I hope you and the Doc get back up to speed. Take care.

Gorgeous Valery. I must admit I was a bit sorry I made things to sell with my squares - but hey what a great excuse to buy some more fabric!

Your advent calendars are amazing! What a lovely use of the squares, and such gorgeous bright vibrant colours too. So sorry you've broken your wrist - not good timing, eh? Hope it's better soon. thank you for your lovely comment on my blog - glad you like my mirrors, and thank you for your kind thoughts about my uncle. Even if you haven't strictly speaking done a WOYWW, have a happy one anyway! Shoshi #56

These are great! Hope you are ok and your wrist is mending well. The pinecone (that you cant twist too tight!) is a Tim Holtz die - its on his first tag - we ordered it last week and it only arrived Tuesday late afternoon but we had lovely hour yesterday sitting cutting out a load whilst surrounded by builders renovating her kitchen - they must think we are so mad because we kept squealing with delight every time we cut out a brown piece of cardstock! Cant imagine having a birthday on Christmas Eve - my DS doesnt like any Christmas stuff until after his birthday so I wont be in a Christmas frame of mind until next week although I have done most of my cards now (thanks to Tim's tags and only having to make about 20!!!!).

Love the advent calenders, greatly admire the effort put into making the second one reminding me of the old adage 'Where there's a will theres a way'. You didn't mention how the wrist is getting on? Are you able to use your fingers at all yet?

Those advent calendars are great, so bright and cheery. Well done for working out how to sew with a broken wrist. I hope you are getting more sympathy than I did. My mother and Mother-in-law, said "Oh right. Can you go and do that job for me". Friends just wanted to make sure that they did not have to take over my job of doing the results for our big Land Rover event the following week. My gorgeous husband was wonderful though, and really spoiled me. The dog just kept away as he did not like the smell of the plaster. Keep your fingers wriggling as much as possible and keep a very fat knitting needle handy (I am sure you will work out why).
