Workdesk Wednesday 98

Wednesday again and time to show whats on my desk this week. This is it at 3.30am this morning. I had been making flower brooches firstly out in the garden and then in the lounge last night so this has just all been dumped back on my desk for working on some more later.
On the right you can see a cross stitch picture that I had sorted out to show Susan (Little Imperfections) that I had made in the nineties and forgotten about until Susan showed one she had made too on her blog. The little blue book is 29 Embroidery stitches. I'm not saying how long
I have had that but it does say price threepence!

So what is Monkey up to on his desk this week? Well he is busy looking through holiday brochures as someone commented that he might like to travel the world and send postcards back of his travels!!
As he dosen't have much in his peanut account at the moment I suggested that a day trip to Margate was more in order. I also pointed out that he didn't have a passport.
Bad mistake I think.!!!!

If you would like to see more tidy/untidy desks around the World then pop on over to Julia's blog and have a snoop around. You will be suprised at what is going on .

P.s My tea cup and saucer made the top three over at Funky Hands. I'm really chuffed.

I would be happy to have Monkey come for a visit should he get funds to travel to the states. I have a basket of bananas I am sure would tide him over. I have a similar piece of embrodiery from the 70's. Thanks for sharing. Vickie #28

Lovely cross stitched house. I've got a few unfinished cross stitches somewhere too - at least now I use my stash of embroidery thread in other craft projects.

Your flower brooches look lovely too x

I have that little book of embroidery stitches too, and at the same price, plus the little green book too. I must dig them out sometime soon and finish off the embroidery picture I started several years ago. Your brooches are very pretty, lovely colours too.

Hey! Yes Ive fallen a bit behind with the blogging and my orders,, cant remember the last time I made some jewellery,, think it was the night before the induction! Seems like forever.
Just getting used to not having a routine and starting to get into the swing of things so hoping to find some time to be blogging etc!

How would Monkey fancy a trip to the Brecon Beacons? We live on the edge of some forestry so plenty of trees for him to swing from!
Like those brooches. There seem to be a few of us fessing this week to old projects! LOL!
BTW, If you pop to a Build A Bear shop you can get a passport for Monkey!

Your cross-stitched picture is just beautiful. You certainly have the talent. Those books are worth their weight in gold, how priceless!
Thank for showing your lovely picture. I enjoyed reading about your son; sleeping outdoors is so magical. I lasted 2 hours and was cold!!

Hello Mrs. A. - the early bird gets the worm but you are out there sewing and embroidery, cross stitch - wow! I did those things back in the day too - hope my eyes are good enough to try it once or twice - you're so inspiring. Oh poor Monkey wants to see the world - how lovely he is browsing travel brochures. Well, a day away always makes the heart glad. Hope all is well with you and the family.

Just looked up Yellow-rattle...how lovely to see it in the wild!
Did you know it's a semi-parasite and steals water and minerals from other plants....I love bluebells; the perfume takes me right back!
Hope you enjoy more plant spotting this weekend. Maybe you'll do some more cross stitch, too!

Have a good one.

Seeing your little Blue book of embroidery stitches reminded me that I have one of those stashed away somewhere. I’m into a cross stitching too and am currently working on nine quilts for the hospice that looked after my dad last year.

Your piece of stitching is so sweet and it looks so neat but I can’t believe that you did it all that time ago and still haven’t done anything with it.

Happy Easter and Crafting!

Hi Monkey, so sorry I'm soo late this week but I'm not home (dog sitting) and things always go wrong when you're not home, No keyboard this morning, really wonky, but it seems ok now. So, Monkey have you picked out a new hat to wear on Friday?? They've only got a tiny telly here, so I'm tempted to go home for the day or of course go to my other people, who have an enormouse telly, you'd love it...Happy WOYWW
