I chose to use this image by them 
called 'All - For - Show'

I have used my Copic Markers

 and a Gold pen to colour in. 

Sentiment is made with  Britannia die cuts.

Base card is made from purple card stock.

Then layered up with gold and navy card

and then finally another deeper purple shade.

Gold edging , corners and flowers are gold  stickers

from my stash .

The eye of the peacock plus the eyes in the feathers

are tiny spots of liquid pearls.

Glittered Candles

It's the 1st Rudolph Challenge of the Yr

over on Scraps of Life By Scrappy Mo

but before I show you my card 

Maureen had asked on a previous post on her blog

how to prevent a tent fold card from pulling open

with the weight of extra layers on the front .

Here is my solution to the problem.

I will show you using a ready made card base 

and also if making your own from cardstock

as the method for the folds is slightly different.

Using a ready purchased blank card.

Here I have used a 6"x 6" card.

You will end up with a finished card size of  6"x 4.5"

Trim back of card to 5.5" and score at 4.5"

Leave front of card at 6" and score at  4.5" & 5.5"

Mountain and valley fold as shown here.

Adhere d.s. tape to the 1" fold and peel  back 

a third of the backing strip 

Line up with the .5" fold and adhere.

You will now have a tent fold that will stay

in the same position . 

Instead of using the inside of card for greeting 

you can use the back.

Using Card stock.

Trim cardstock to 6" x 11.5".

Score at 4.5", 9", 10" & 11"

Mountain and valley fold as shown here.

Adhere d.s. tape to the .5" fold and peel  back 

a third of the backing strip 

Line up with the back of card and adhere.

You now have a tent fold to decorate as you wish

which will stay standing.

Finally here are the two cards that I made from above.

I have used sheets of heavy  glitter paper in 5 colours

and die cut  'Glowing Candles'  by Memory Box

from 3 of them and then mixed and matched 

piecing back together in a different  colourway

for each card.

Sentiments are by Britannia dies .

Even though I have  layered up several sheets of the  glitter paper

to the front of the cards they still stay up without sliding down.

Happy Birthday To Me!

I blinked and now my blog is 6yrs old today!

Doesn't time fly when your having Crafty Fun.

I thought it might be  rather fun to go back to 2010

and pick one of  my first posts to re show to you.

So here is my blast from the past
Turkish Delight.

A five-sided silk embroidered box.

Made from real silk material

which at the time was nearly 40yrs old.

I had a look in my material stash

the other day and found I still had a piece

of the silk left.

Also pleased to say that the lady who now owns this

is still one of my followers!!

Acetate Again!



It is  a new Theme

over at my Butterfly Challenge

#47 Butterflies + O is for Over the Edge

  (so edge cut on project to overhang or the overhang method when cutting a die when the image goes over the edge as on a circle die).

or

#47 Butterflies + U is for Undulating

(so image or embellishment on  either wires or acetate strip so that it moves on the card.)

It 's a double billing as we are down

to the last two letters of the current Alphabet theme.

My Inspiration card is to show you

what I made using acetate to make the movement.

No acetate on the front this time!

The surprise is on the inside.

When you open up the card you find

this array of butterflies bobbing around!

They are all attached to separate strips

of acetate which are secured behind

the die cut flower border and  sandwiched

between the front and back fold of the base.

is  Craft Essentials

Meadow border - DIOB0079

which I have coloured with my Graph'it Markers.

The butterflies are all pre cut on a printed sheet

called 'Shabby Chic' by Studiolight.

I used pink, green and blue cardstock for the base card.

Sentiment is a textured sticker from my stash.

Acetate strips were all left over snippets.

Design paper snippet and gems from my stash also.

Next week I will show you a card using wire!

All The blues

Another  Football themed card.

This time for our Grandsons other Granddad

whose Birthday it was last week.

Again I made the card in his local teams colours.

The sentiment is a large word stamp by Woodware.

I started off wih a large offcut of  white card stock

and glued different widths of snippets of design paper across

the card to fill.

Football paper is a digi by 

'Print Fun Factory' a shop on Etsy.

I used bright blue cardstock  for the base

and adhered the football design paper to the front

having first stamped the clear stamp onto it

so that I knew the wording would be centered.

I then stamped again onto the card of glued down stripes

and fussy cut out each letter separately. Some I had to stamp 

more than once as the letters overlap. 

I then proceeded to glue onto the stamped image making 

sure I had the correct letters overlapping each other .

I can't deny it wasn't fiddly but the finished result was worth it.

Happy Birthday spelt out in his teams colours.!

I then found as I had made the card a non standard size

I had no envelope to fit it so had to make one

which I decorated with some strips of the football paper

on  the front and on the inside flap.

Sleigh Time.

It is already the #2 challenge

over with the girls in the Christmas Card Club .

Maureen has chosen today's theme

'Sleigh'

I have kept to my new  resolution to use

1 used christmas card front and 

 a stamp/supplies from my stash 

for the 2nd one. 

I used Red card stock  to make the base card

which has a small flap folded up inside the card.

I found this enchanting sleigh  in my  used card stash

Card front cut out using my Xcut Square Parenthesis dies.

I went round the edge of the red insert and paper pierced 

for added interest.

Papers are digi ones from Nit Wits

using their 'Christmas Too' collection

and ' Believe Too' collection.

I paper pierced around the blue insert too

but it is hard to see the lighting was so poor.

Then I had a thorough look in my 

Christmas stamp box and luckily found this gem.

Urban Stamps 'Noel' 8 piece set.

I coloured using my Promarkers and a gold gel pen .

I used green card stock for the base this time

and used the same flap design but turned it upright.

Scalloped edges were die cut using Crafts-Too

Square dies PCD77.

The sentiment and Santa were  in the  stamp set

so I used them on the inside of the card.

form the Simple Joys Too collection.

More Inking.

Well goodness me you all seem 

to be having an Inky time over  at

My Butterfly Challenge .

40 entries already with another week still  to play.

Here is some more inspiration .

I have been taking an online

Stamping Colour Techniques class

by Laura Bassen

and this is a technique using masking tape.

I've used different colours and added the butterfly

to my card.

This is very CAS for me and out of my comfort zone. 

I really wanted the butterfly to be 2 of the band

colours but didn't want to make a fussy cut 

addition to the card so in the end I came up with

inking a circle onto the card just large enough to take

the stamp which is by Stamplorations  from their

Artful Flutters set.

Colours were created using Versa Magic Dew Drops

in  Wheat, Pink Petunia & Perfect Plumeria.

Wording was from Stamplorations 

'Trendy Butterflies'

The black dots were punched from a snippet 

of shinny black sticky plastic.

My 2nd Inspiration card

has me tackling another Nemesis

namely my Brayer!

I used a selection of inks to create

the brayered background, a masked 

circle to make the moon and torn paper

to create the hills.

Stamps used are  from

Lavinia stamps  'Butterrflies'

Woodware 'Plant and Meadow - mini'

I adhered the panel to  a digi paper

from Pink Petticoat called 'Biscotti'

which matched my moon perfectly.

Base card was made using blue cardstock.
