Get your Skates on

Get your skates on (and is what I should really be doing ) is the latest theme for the Christmas Club Girls to be showing on our cards. Chosen by Gwen ' Ice Skates or  Winter Sports.'  and  I was spoilt for choice this time.
So why am I late yet again you ask ? Well You'll  like  my excuse this time it's a cracker and honestly I do not make these things up.  Ok so yes we were having a lie in (watching Sunday Politics I hasten to add on the TV,) all riveting stuff when we got a phone call from the Window Cleaner (I kid you not) asking could he come and do the windows as he was in our vicinity  doing the local Golf Course club house and could he also have a cup of coffee when he got here as the clubs cafeteria was shut!!
The Doc doesn't  generally need an excuse to fire up the Tassimo coffee machine but it did mean the Window cleaner got his coffee before me!!
Finally got my coffee when a text came in to say 3 items had been substituted on my food delivery for later on today so further procrastination whilst I logged onto the PC to see what I was now getting instead.

I managed 5 cards from rooting through my stash, 3 using  Ice Skates and 2 using Winter Sports so hope you like my choice Gwen. Though I made all these last night I needed the light coming in the lounge windows (now sparkly clean) this morning  to get decent pictures of them.

Card 1
Uses a Sassy Cheryl's  pre coloured  digi image called 'Smooth Move' from Paper Creator. The card blank was an old one found  in my box and has the oval already cut from it so I just printed off the image and glued behind and then added a further panel inside to neaten. The flower is a Tonic embellishment. The strips of glitter are cut from cardstock and the glitter stickers from my stash.
Card 2
Uses a Sassy Cheryl's  pre coloured  digi image called 'Figure Eight Style'. Th spotty digi paper is from Nitwits 'Believe Too' collection called Dots Red.  The best wishes is  a strip of Washi Tape and I found the green holly stickers in my stash.
Card 3
Uses a freebie paper from several years ago  from PaperCraft Inspirations called 'New York, New York, Winter Wonderland 'collection.  The greeting was a gold sticker in my stash that I layered up on a scrap of red and white and  given more height with strips of white card stock in lieu of 3D pads.
I go a bit of camera glare on the front so this is the inside of the card showing the sky line on the design paper along with the cute skating figures.  I did finish all of the insides of the other cards too  using up the scraps but haven't shown here otherwise I won't get this posted.
Card 4
Uses a pre coloured digi image from The Paper Shelter called 'Sliding Bear' which i thought fitted the bill of Winter Sports.  Gold edging and gold sticker  sentiments from my stash. Snow flake Paper by LOTV.
Card 5
Uses a freebie cardboard topper from years and years  gone by. It came in a large packet of different animals and embellishments and I believe the packet had over 50 in it which I am still endeavouring to use up. Again the bear skiing fitted the winter sports theme. The Design paper was a magazine freebie and I just layered the bear up in the same way as I did  the sentiment on  card No3. Silver stars and silver sentiment from my stash.
Just time for another coffee and to see the other girls makes  before the delivery man turns up with my weekly shop!

.
Stay Safe
Hugs

Brilliant cards on the skating theme - wouldn't like to choose a fave, love them all. Hope your online shopping substitutions weren't too bizarre. I sometimes wonder at the mindset of the people who do the shopping on our behalf although recently more often than not they are just not substituting - merely saying 'item not available'.

My goodness Valery you were certainly on a roll, all of your cards are fabulous, with super fun toppers and designs. all perfect for the challenge.
I sat glued to the TV for for the two days, this election was so important to us here in Scotland. Great result for those of us who long for independence, so it's going to be an interesting parliamentary session. Hope your weekend is going well, Kate x

LOL! I’m so glad that I came back to take another look at your fun Christmas cards, ValeryAnne. Your descriptive story gave me a delightful chuckle, at the audacity that a worker would expect you to have their coffee ready. LOL! Anyway, thanks for the cute play-by-play events of the day! Hugs, de

You have been super busy! I love all of these cards. Card #1 is what I would look like if I tried to ice skate now. I broke both of my ankles a couple years ago and I can no longer skate!

These cards are the cutest, Valery! I love the skating ones and he's having so much fun on the sled. Even skiing looks like fun. So funny you had to make the window washer coffee. I need a window washer right now.
