Iris Folded Robin.

I just fancied doing some Iris Folding on a card for a change and also to use another of my( erm many) embossing folders so I did.

Card Design is from a book called 460 Iris Folded Cards to Make by Maruscha Gaasenbeek and Tine Beauveser. So far I have made 3 from the book (albeit two of them more than once) so I still have a way to go.
Embossing folder is by Sam Poole for Creative Expressions called 'Bark'.
All the papers were snippets from my stash.

The embossed paper was lightly brushed over with distress ink and again around the cut out of the robin. Below is a close up of the Iris folding.  The chart provided shows in which order to do the folding  though I find  it is best to mark off on the chart as you go along which bits you have already done. It is easy to loose track and use the wrong coloured paper. I find it very relaxing. I made this card for a friend who likes robins.
Entering this card into Mo's November  Rudolph Day Challenge.

NOW!

Mother Hen is preening her feathers here. My daughter (Fluff) Faye Wynn-Jones has taken her considerable colouring skills to You Tube and produced her first tutorial. Watch and listen to some soothing music whilst she brings a Snowman to life before your very eyes. You will be amazed at what Faye does with the Snowman's scarf. Here is the link. Enjoy. I Did.

Stay safe and well
Hugs

It's been years since I've done Iris folding, but this little bird looks fantastic! You did a great job and good for you using an embossing folder too!

Oh that is adorable! What lovely iris folding, I've not done any for ages. I just love that magic moment when you turn your work over to the right side and see the finished design.
Off to watch Fluff's video.

A fabulous design and I your iris folding - the colours of your robin are beautiful.

I haven't done any iris folding for ages. That's how I started cardmaking with an iris folding card kit I bought off ebay and thought I would 'give it a go'. The rest, as they say, is history!

This is awesome, Valery. I love the papers you chose and it really brought this bird to life. It looks so labor intensive. Your daughter's snowman is so pretty. I couldn't catch the markers she used but she did a great job.

That is an amazing card Mrs A. I’ve never got on with iris folding, I always end up with something very bulky.
