Keeping Busy.

It was a beautiful sunny day today so I threw open the double doors to the Summer House and set the Chess Set up for a game with The Doc.

May the best man win!!! Let battle commence.
Well I managed  35mins (but most of that time was learning the rules of engagement) before
The Doc had my White King  in Checkmate with his Black Bishop. Close up of my defeat below.
I managed a more respectable 1hr 35mins on the next game
before The Doc had my White King in check with not only his Queen but both of his Knights.
Oh well, there is always another day!

Hope you are all keeping well and safe and finding ways to spend your extra time at home.

It was the perfect afternoon to enjoy a chess match, I'm rather jealous of you sitting in the summer house enjoying some competitive competition... it sounds positively idyllic x

I've never played chess. But I wouldn't mind sitting in that summerhouse enjoying the sun. We are going into lockdown at midnight tonight and I don't have anything like that to escape to for a change of scenery. I also have a bad cold at the moment so I've been staying in anyway. I think it is time for me to have a play with some craft techniques I haven't tried or haven't done for a while. Take care and stay safe.

Sounds like a lovely way to spend a sunny afternoon. This week we are having our garden redone and my hubby wants a second shed. I wonder if I could talk him into having a summer house instead. ;-) xx

Diversity is the name of the game I think Valery-Anne, I decided to sit out and have my lunch yesterday, I went out prepared for the cool wind of the day before but first my coat came off, then my cardigan and it was actually really lovely, certainly makes you appreciate the benefit of space, unlike the poor souls who live inner city in apartments and flats.

I just wish I could get my head into craft, all this time and can't navigate my head. But Sara from Stamp Addicts called yesterday having fitted int a couple more Hochanda slots so stamps on way and might make me buckle down. One of their dates is 19th April when I was going to be on with Lesley, but don't see that as an option ow sadly.

Stay safe,

B x

Looks like a wonderful way to spend a bit of quality time with your other half Mrs A. I've never learned to play chess, my O/H can so maybe now would be a good time to learn! Anyhow, you've inspired me to tackle spring cleaning the Summer House, it's a lovely place to sit this time of year!
xx

I'm so glad you had such a glorious day to spend in the Summer House. I hope everyone is playing games of some sort and enjoying each other. Games usually keep kids busy too. We are to warm up by Thursday and I hope to get outside for some fresh air. I can talk to my neighbors across the fence.

Hi Mrs A,
what gorgeous place to sit and learn chess.
Your summer house looks gorgeous.

Hi there Valery, well done on learning chess, I never have although it's something I always wished I had. Pleased you had lovely weather, we've had drizzly rain all day and complete cloud cover.
I kept myself busy by phoning some friends. The choral finished so abruptly, so I just wanted to hear how friends were. Maybe get into the craft room tomorrow, take care, Kate x

Chess is definitely not my thing but a good game of cards or a board game would definitely be welcome. With the little bit of sunshine we are getting we have put the awning up in the garden and it's lovely to sit out there for a coffee and a chat. Enjoy the little things Valery.
