Festive Food

It's the 1st meetup of the year
for the girls in the Christmas Card Club.
Margaret has started us off with the theme
'Festive Food'

Now over the past few years I have always
used my supply of used christmas card fronts up.
So you could be forgiven for thinking that I don't
actually own any  christmas  themed stamps, digi's,
stencils, die cuts or punches but I do and they
never get used. Therefore my intention this year
when I make a Christmas card
is to  do one using up an old card front and
another breaking into my huge stack of unused supplies.

The only card front I had to fit the theme had glasses
of wine on it so when there is no food let them drink wine.
The Doc would endorse that idea whole heartedly!

My love /hate relationship with acetate is coming
along in leaps and bounds. So much so that I'm
in danger of running out of the darn stuff and need
to get some more supplies in pronto!!
Card base uses green card stock that matches
the green glitter in the bauble perfectly.
Ribbon, gold sticker edging, sentiment
and the faux gems were from my stash.

Inside of card showing extra panel cut to hide
the d/s tape holding card in place on acetate front.

Entering this card into the following challenges:
Crafty Gals Corner #53 Anything goes.
Craft Rocket Challenges #6 Happy anything.
Brown Sugar #180 Anything goes.
Creative Fingers #100 Anything goes.
Jo's Scrap Shack #120 Anything goes.
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #25 Anything goes.
Pixie's Crafty Workshop #211 Use your snippets (cut down christmas card front).
Crimbo Crackers #97 anything goes christmas.
2 Creative Chicks #6 Anything goes.
Creative Ladybirds #11 Anything goes.

For my 2nd card I delved into my supplies
and found this  'Gingerbread Scene'
digi set from Imagine That
bought way back in  Dec 2013.
I teamed it with another digi product
'Sweet Candy Canes'  paper from the
Joyeux  Noel collection by Pink Petticoat.
I purchased this more recently end of  Dec 2015
just before they closed their shop.
Card shape is one I have used before but it is
one of my favourites a
Joy Fold Card.
I used  matching brown shimmer cardstock to make
the base shapes.

Half and then fully opened.

You can't see them  in the picture but I used
small round magnetic discs to hold the card shut.
This was a tip I learnt from the  card class
I  did on line. They work a treat.

Two great cards. I love idea of doing up two cards...one from upcycling and one from your stash of stamps...great idea.

I am almost finished my supply of reusable old cards. So many of them hace huge images which do not lend well to upcycling so just a have a few left now.

PS Your new blog header is gorgeous!

Great cards - I love your use of acetate. I've not got as far as 'love/hate' with acetate, I'm still on 'hate'!!
There's a game of tag in the Snippets Playground and Sarn has just tagged me so I'm 'IT'. I've just tagged you, so now you must run off and tag another playmate!
