Take some cardboard, a little green felt,
black button, clip
and some left over red fleece and what do you get.
A nice red poppy.
I just cut a simple poppy shape from the cardboard
and red fleece and sandwiched the card in bewteen.
A plain blanket stitch around the edge
using single sewing thread.
A leaf cut from the felt using a leaf die and my Big Shot .
I actually made this last year and one for Miss Di
which we wore to the NEC.
Forgot to take a picture and post till now!!
The back showing the safety clasp.
The leaf sewn on at 11 o'clock. Not many people know
that is how a poppy should be worn.
Especially TV presenters.
Here is this years poppy.
A knitted one this time which I will wear on my hat.

Hi Mrs A both your poppies are gorgeous and how stunning they are and made to look easy too! l like both but l like the idea of the one your wearing on your hat xx
Both your poppies are wonderful. I had no idea about the leaf being added later. Your knitted poppy will look lovely in your hat.

Two lovely poppies Mrs A. I didn't know about the leaf either, though up here in Scotland they don't give you a leaf! Carol x
Great job with your poppies...both are so well done.
Great poppies Mrs A!
How fabulous, especially love the felt one and why do TV presenters start wearing them so very early?

Wonderful design this year Mrs A! I still have my lovely poppy from last year and have been wearing it of course, Also bought the normal ones so as to donate to British Legion of course.
Suffering today after our flu shots yesterday, sigh :(

Not just one but a pair! Two lovely poppies, and I must say I like the instructions for the first one - hope to make some for next year - note I said "some" perhaps I will end up with a garland but I love poppies so much.

Hi Mrs A
Both poppies are gorgeous but love the knitted one.
Oooh, didn't know there was poppy wearing etiquette. I shall pass that one on.
