I have been to two of the water colouring classes now and my dread of having to do a still life on lesson one turned out to be a reality. The tutor could see I wasn't happy with an apple and a banana so gave me an old metal railway sign which was advertising a wine with a picture of a grape vine with grapes hanging on it.
We finished our still life in the second lesson so here is my first efforts at water colour painting. When I got it home I couldn't resist adding a butterfly to it. Well it would have been rude not to!!
Not exactly a master piece but it's a start. I'm more at home with oils and there is a different technique to using water colours. Next lesson we are painting flowers which is much more in my comfort zone so watch this space as they say.

This is lovely Mrs A well done you! huggles Sue xx
That's fabulous work Mrs A. So proud of you. I love water colour paints but oil paints terrify me! I took water colour classes at one point and I love using them on my cards and papers. I can draw but it takes me ages and I'm never happy with the end result lol! I think it's why I love stamps so much xx
Those berries look delicious enough to eat! Well done!
Beautiful Mrs. A I am so envious of your watercolouring skills.
Love the added butterfly.

Hi Mrs A
Who wants to paint an apple when you can paint this lovely picture. Not sure I could do anything like this so good for you. Now, if it was Fernando Alonso as a still life, I'd give that a go lol!
Look forward to seeing your next painting.

I think you did a great job... I couldn't do it, Copics, Pencils or watercolour! X
I think your work in oil did help you produce this, Mrs. A. and I don't care if you agree, to me it's a masterpiece for a first time go at watercoloring!! Me, in awe!! I can't wait to see what you do next. That butterfly was the perfect little touch to complete the scene!! Hugs, Darnell
If this is your first attempt, you will be a master at the end of class! Great job for the first time.
Your 1st watercolor attempt turned out very well! I didn't post my first attempts they were so bad. The butterfly is the perfect touch!
I'm so impressed! Bet you'll have fun with the flowers next!
This is lovely for a first attempt - wow! You have lovely shades of dark and light in there but of course your butterfly is the creme de la creme!!! lol.
So glad you are joining our merry throng at the CCC - just think how many Christmas cards you will have made by Christmas - yay!!
Lots of hugs to you Sue Pxxx (CCC)
First attempt?! Get outta here! This is fabulous, Valery. Can't wait to see what you bring from lesson #2. Well done!

Thanks so much Mrs A for the tip about how to follow Rachel. My mind is full of other things at the mo (see my comment on the Xmas blog) and I just couldn't figure it out for the life of me.
So good to see you join us over there. You will really like the group. I met Sue J and Sue P in Scarborough when I was over last August. They are lovely girls!
Terific job, if that's your first watercolouring. I love how the berries seem to catch the light.

Looks like a masterpiece from where I'm sitting! I couldn't do it. And yes, it needed a pretty butterfly to make it all your very own. Well done Valery. I like it a lot. TFS
