WOYWW 124.

This was the state of my desk at 3am this morning when I abandoned it!
I had intended to get started on altering my Altoids tin for the button swap but ended up playing with the buttons I had collected for it instead. The pile of pink charm squares are from the USA and were included in a swap I recently did. Planning on joining them altogther and making a sheet of fabric and then cutting a little patchwork dress out for the dress a child appeal. The dark christmas tree fabric is left over from cutting out 56 5" squares for a christmas material swap have entered into. Took absolutely ages and then I had to iron em all and get them all posted off by yesterday.
I will eventually receive 56 squares back of 28 different fabrics which I have plans on using for a project I have up my sleeve. Some friendly plastic strips I still havn't used yet and a knitting pattern that I downloaded to make another knitty for the christmas box child appeal. Carol was the first to spot my un deliberate mistake on Mr Elephants foot/paw and said as she didn't want a prezzie would I make something else to send off to include in the boxes.

A lot of people have commented on my sewing machine cover. I did not make this. Again it was a swap that I entered . My cover went off to America and this is the one I received. My partner knew me well to make it in pink!.
If you want to have a good old snoop on some more desks pop on over to Julia's blog. There will be lots to see. Happy snooping.

Great desk, as always. It doesn't look too tidy, but you can tell it would be easy to sit down and start crafting.

Have a good one,

Thank Heaven for rotary cutters cutting all those 5" squares out. I was admiring that sewing machine cover too. I shall have to make one, sometime!

I love the sound of the fabric swap. I've been cutting little squares recently to try to finish a patchwork quilt I started a couple of years ago! It's a slow process, but I will get there in the end.

LOL about the buttons! I didn't want to let mine go either, but I did, just waiting to hear that my swap partner has them but she's being very quiet at the moment.

Did you make your monkey's jeans? My monkey wants to know if I can get him some!

aw, I used to love playing with buttons when I was little....I gave them names ..(very sad child, no other kids about!) Now, don't you leave that project up your sleeve for too long, or Monkey will think your arm has gone lumpy!

Well I totally understand. I would have been distracted by the buttons too. In fact, what better way to be distracted!

My grandmother's button tim was my favourite toy whenever we went to visit. It was kept in the right hand drawer of the iron Singer sewing machine table, you know, the one with all the wrought iron work on the stand. The buttons were better than jewellry as far as I wans concerned, and I still have some of them in my button stash. I will never use them but I cannot bear to part with them.

That's a very interesting work table! I used to do a lot of that sort of patchwork at one time... Love the sewing machine cover! What a cool idea. Thanks for the comment on my blog. Card making's not really my thing but I'll do it for my mum!! I opened my Etsy shop last night (or small hours this a.m. actually) - scary pressing the button to make the first thing "live" but it's done now and all I can do is sit back and wait!! It's all very exciting. Happy belated WOYWW.
