Kinetic Card.

It is a new challenge over on the Butterfly Blog. The  letter is K and the card shape is Kinetic. Before you go running for the hills though please take a look at my card below which is a very simple card to make.
Kinetic  just  means a card with a moving part.  I have a step by step tutorial for you over on the Butterfly blog and you will find it under the card shapes tab at the top of the blog. 

My card uses Kinetic card/Key lime/Kobe/Kobi/Butterfly from the current wheel.

 Here is the card closed. I have used design papers from The works, Heart shape die cut From John Next Door, Butterfly die from Elizabeth Craft Designs and a Britannia word die.

Christmas tTags

Time once more for the girls in the Christmas Card Club to show our next makes. Gran Margaret set the theme of Use two or more Pattern papers.  I have opted to use our fall back of Anything Goes if we can't make anything using  the theme.  Mainly because these tags ( that I made but never got round to showing last yr) whilst do use two or more papers( I have just realised ) are not patterned. Der!!  I have had no time to make more.

I shall go and sit on the naughty step and see what the other girls have come up with instead..

Last Joy Fold

It is the last week to make cards for the current Butterfly Challenge.

Here is my inspiration for you today which uses ribbon as a closure on the card.
Elements taken from the wheel are Joy Fold/Jasmine/ Juicy Orange/ Jewels/butterfly.
The design paper is by Raspberry road and came as a freebie in a magazine. By careful cutting and placement of the paper I have managed to retain most of the pretty floral design which was only down the outside edges. The butterfly is a freebie stamp from Paper crafter Magazine which I stamped onto the design paper.

 The sentiment is by Kaisercraft  from their Birthday Wishes stamp set CS362.

Th ribbon for the closure and the jewels were from my stash. The cream textured card was an old cut up photo folder which had been in my stash for such a long time that is was yellow from age. around the edges.  You still have one week left to play so hope to see you.

Iv'e been inked.

I was recently blogging to a friend and bemoaning the fact that I didn't use Inks and Brushos and just relied on good old design papers when making cards. Then thinking about it I suddenly realised that I had gone to a workshop at the beginning of the year where we just had fun playing around with mixing the colours of oxide inks onto our craft mats and creating watercolour card backgrounds. We each had eight pieces of card to use and the idea was to make a light and a dark version of our chosen colours.
I wasn't very adventuresome with my colours as I'm  more a lover of a pastel palette. Some of the other girls came up with really striking and vibrant colour ways. We then made our swatches up into cards. I only managed to complete the one card, even though we were stamping direct onto the cardstock and using the matching die cuts.
Here is the one card that I did produce.

 Stamp and dies  are by Julie Hickey from her Fancy Flutter-bies , Floral Fancies and Floral Fancies Die set. I used a score pal to create the back panel.  When I got it home I decided it needed a bit of  an 'oomph' so used pink stickles glue to add some glamour.

Here are the other colour swatches that I made at the same time and still waiting for me to have some more 'oomph' to complete into cards.

Anniversary Wishes.

It was our Wedding Anniversary this week and this is the card I made for The Doc.  Still in Joy Fold Mold as I really do like making these cards and you can really go to town on them. I have gone overboard with the belly band closure and made it the central focus of the card. The heart shape is a John Next Door die from his Heart collection set. The little heart is from the sentiment used inside. Happy Anniversary is from Tonic Studios.  All the papers were from various design paper books in my stash and as The Doc likes green I just pulled out papers willy nilly to compliment one another.

 Here is the card minus the belly band and left quite plain as the fun part is on the inside.

 When we visit our friends down in Suffolk we stay at a B & B which is out in the middle of nowhere with not much traffic on the roads and quiet apart from the Hares that run amok most nights in the very large garden and the adjacent farmers fields.   This stamp reminded me of them and  is by Craft Consortium from their WildMeadow set. I had a go at doing reverse  image stamping and did these two hares in gold embossing powder.  Not too bad for a first attempt. The one on the left (which is the reverse) has come out a bit fainter but I just think it makes it  look the like the female version of the two. The little red heart is from the insert on the sentiment which I die cut in red in order to be able to use.  The gold one is what I used on the Big Heart.

 The sentiment is by sizzix 660825 and cut from gold card to match the sentiment on the belly band .

Joy of Joys.

Week 3 of the Butterfly Challenge is starting and I have another Joy fold card to show you. This time the closure uses  twine/jute tied in a bow.

I used Joy Fold/Jade/Jute/ Butterfly from the wheel.

The design papers are from The Works. The butterfly paper and the stripe paper have a lovely glossy finish to them. the twine/jute was from my stash. The butterfly on the front is a die cut from Paper Crafter Magazine which came as a freebie.

 The sentiment die cut inside is a Sizzix Thinlits 660825.

Non - Traditional Christmas Colourways.

Time is speeding by again but I have managed to make another 3 cards for the Christmas Card Club. Sylvie chose the theme of non-Traditional colours.  I had a look through my stash and found these  prints from The Hunkydory Little book of Sparkling Season which had some unusual colour combinations  and teamed them with complimentary card stock. I keep a folder of all the negative and positive diec cuts that I don't use from previous card making projects so I had a sort through and pulled out  a few negative die cuts to use.

Card 1.
The white frame is Spellbinders Art Deco S5-254 and I used the next frame size down to die cut a further one from one of the prints. I backed both frames onto silver pearlescent card stock and then adhered to bright pink cardstock  picking out  the colour from the sleigh . Made the base card from matt grey cardstock, layering everything up and used a silver sticker sentiment on a scrap of the grey card to finish.

Card 2.
The dark damson frames are Sizzix 657905 and I had the idea to simply lay both of them over the second print. The colour matches the wrapped  presents in the sleigh. Backed onto mint green cardstock and the base card is made from mushroom card stock all layered up and finished off with a banner sentiment.

 Card 3.
Uses a Sizzix Frame die cut 657936. The last print fitted behind perfectly. I mounted it onto eau de nil card s and then onto a base card made from cream pearlescent cardstock. The cream sentiment die cut was in the folder and tied in with the colours in the print. The laser diet cut sentiment is by Scrapmatts from their Christmas Ornaments set. 

3 quick and fairly simple cards from me this week. I did finish off the inside of each card with matching coloured card stock ready to attach a christmas greeting to before sending out.  I;m off to see what colours the girls have come up with.  Thanks for the fun theme Sylvie.
