Post Me A Letter Do.

Time has sped round once more.
It is my turn to choose the theme
for the Christmas Club Girls.
I have gone with show a
Post Box on your project.
A quick delve into my used Christmas card stack
and I found 2 very suitable ones to reuse.

One very old style box showing the Initials GR
for King George VI  and the other the boxes we still use today
with ER on them for Queen Elizabeth II.

I'm back with my love/ hate addiction
for acetate on  the 1st card.
I used cream card for the base and layered up with
cream parchment paper for the wording to go on
then the card front and lastly the acetate.
I made the bow using my new bow maker gadget.
I took an aerial view below to show the layers.

I left the 2nd card pretty much as is.
I found the Artists name on  the back which is
Billy Stevenson and the picture is called
'Robin and Post Box'.
Used my Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles
to die cut the layers which I then layered
back up using successively deeper 3D sticky pads .

You can see the 3D effect below.
I used red card stock to create the base
and added  pearls  plus  a gold sticker
sentiment to complete.

I can't wait to see  what  the other girls will make of the theme.

Fly Away.

It's week 2 of my Butterfly challenge

Here is some more inspiration for you.

This is as CAS as it gets!

I adhered two small strips of washi tape onto a snippet of card
and then cut the banner shape to fit a blank card base.
Used 2 SU butterfly punches  to cut the apertures
and then the cut outs were raised up on 3D pads
and adhered above  the strip.
A few  pearls  for the trail and card is complete.
Simples!!!!

Cleopatra

A very different style card from me today.
This is for the new challenge over

We are being sponsored by
The theme is anything goes  as usual
and we would love to see your projects.
I chose this image called ' Cleopatra Portrait.'
As soon as I saw her I  knew I just had to colour her up.
I have used Promarkers, gold gel pen
and gold pearlised chalk.
I fussy cut the image out after colouring her.
The stamp is of Roman Columns and writing
but I can't for the life of me recall where I got it from
or the make other than is is unmounted red rubber.
I have layered up with orange and red card stock
on black as my base card.
The black panel has been embossed using
a Darice folder of Bulrushes.
Cleopatra is raised up with 3D pads.

The only way I could get a  half decent photo to show up
the embossed panel was to turn the card sideways
under my white desk light.

Birds of a Feather.

well I have to report that making
a clock this week on my blog
has not given me any more time!!
In fact 2 weeks seems to have spun round
in supper fast fashion as it's time
for us girls in the Christmas Card Club
to show you our makes.
Mary set the theme this week
which was to feature
A Cardinal or Christmas Bird.

This immediately conjured up  the idea
of Robins  so a quick delve into the  recycle bin
of used christmas card fronts and I found this cheery pair.

I trimmed the picture down to size and then layered
onto first cherry red and then gold pearlised cardstock.
I used a cream blank card for my base and adhered a
square of the cherry red card to it and then layered  the
robins on top. I then edged around the outside with strips
of gold foil to give the look of a picture frame.
The sentiment is a gold foil sticker given the same
treatment and adhered to front of card with 3D pads.
Below is the inside of the card
where I have used gold foil corners and more of the
edging srips.
Everything came from my stash.

Pixie's Crafty Workshop #201 Use up your snippets (recycled card)

As it would be a cardinal sin not to make
a card without a Cardinal on it
this one is just for you Mary!

The Cardinal is a pre coloured  dig image by Fred She Said
that I printed out onto cream parchment paper which
has a lovely texture to it like old writng paper.
I mounted this onto a piece of cereal box cardboard,
then layered up with the gold pearlised and cherry red cardstock
onto the cream blank card base. Some more gold sticker corners,
gold words and pearls from my stash complete the front.
Inside has the same treatment as the first card
layering up with more of the cream  parchment paper.
