Love Birds

I'm right in the throws of a Craft room makeover. I found just the furniture and box storage that I liked and ordered from Ikea only to find when I got to the check out that the particular box colour/design I wanted you could only get instore. Not to be put off I took myself off to the nearest Ikea and found they had ample supplies of what I needed. Phew!! (A few other 'essential' items may have fallen into the trolley at the same time though.) I think the  whole world and his dog were at the store on Sunday. It was heaving and the roads jam packed. Anyway to cut a long story short the rest of the items are being delivered tomorrow. Hopefully I can then get straight. Probably won't be able to find a darn thing as I'm so used to it being piled high on my desk.

Time to show you now the next two cards for the second week of the Butterfly Challenge.

First  card for your inspiration uses   Burgundy/Bluebell/Bow/ Butterfly.

I found the check bow on the floor after I had put the yellow ribbon away from making the next card so rather than get the box back out again I decided to use it on this card. The butterfly stamp is by Inkylicious  stamp set 'Fluttrs 1.' Nearly didn't get coloured though as I couldn't remember which box I had put my Graph'it markers in and a huge search ensued. I found them more bychance than luck after looking in the fourth box.  The design papers are by Crafters Companion 'Vintage Floral Collection' . Die cut is by Cheery Lynn Designs Pierced Stacker #4  Sentiment is by Woodware from their Just to Say stamp set.

Second Card uses Bi fold/ Banana/Bow/Butterfly.  You will find the tutorial for the Bi fold  here on the card shapes page on the Butterfly Blog.
Design paper is by Dovecraft 'Natures Grace' and the clear stamp is also by Dovecraft but had not been bought at the same time so it was pure luck that they went together. Sentiment is by Julie Hickey from her Essential Sentiments 'Just to Say stamp set'. Yellow ribbon for bow and making the belly band from my stash.

I do rather have a thing for belly band closures as I think they make a card look just that little bit different.  Below is the card opened up. I love this bird cage design paper.  The butterflies are of course fluttering amongst the birds on the front of the card.

Hope you will have time to play along. The Bi fold card shape is not compulsory so you can chose from the other elements on the current wheel which is Butterfly/Banana/Burgundy/Bluebell/Buttons/Bows.

I love the roughed up edges on the first card. I also love that you picked that bow up off the floor and used it on the card! It looks great. The bi fold card is so pretty. I like the papers on both front and inside. Hope you can post pictures of the newly made over craft room soon.

Both beautiful cards, Valery, and great papers. I especially admire your bifold card. I haven't tried this technique yet. Kisses, my friend.

Hi Mrs A,
lovely pair of cards, you are getting those bifold cards down pat aren’t you. I like them much better than ribbon slider ones, they annoy me, I’ve decided was given one for my birthday.

...and how I felt for you wrestling your way through disobliging websites then more struggling instore and traffic and now waiting delivery just to get the very thing you wanted, funny sometimes how things work out isn’t it? Hopefully they’ll be perfect!

And re finding things I think lost craft items are a crafter lot, I always seem to be hunting for things. I’ve been sorting for ages now getting less almost light at end of tunnel and still don’t know where things are, and think a whole lot of resorting will occur when this chuck out tidy stage is over. Filled the shredder the other day with shredded paper, I put it on garden for mulch it’s great, but know there is more to go.
Pray your shoulder is happier. I’m getting a new release in April Aussie electronic machine by Corture Creations and selling grand calibur as my shoulder is going too. Can’t wait till it comes I’ve prepaid it, saved money by selling things on eBay and birthday money. 😊
God bless, hugs Shaz in Oz.x

Beautiful cards, Anne! And I'm so excited for you having a craft room makeover! Yes, you'll be scratching your head trying to remember where you put things! (Temporary sticky notes listing what's in drawers and cupboards helped me a lot until I got used to the new system.) I'd love to see a before and after, unless it's too late for the before, then just the after. Hugs, Darnell

Love the shabby chic look of your first card, with great colours and design. Striking second card with the fold and the belly band and love the papers. Hope your make over goes well and that the furniture etc arrives as expected and yes you probably won't be able to find anything now! x

Very pretty cards, I love the papers you've chosen.
Ikea is great for storage but I'm always nearly divorced when I finally get my hubby there to lift things - I can spend hours there and he hates it with a passion!

Gorgeous cards and what fun with the makeover! Bet it'll be great, and Darnell's idea is a good one about Post Its. My boxes are all labelled but the Post Its were so useful in tracking down where stuff was stored! Thinking about it, I have two shelves of books which can go to the charity shop - so that's more space when I need it! My desk is an avalanche waiting to happen due to five weeks out of action. But it's high on the list of things to sort out!

Hugs
