I'm having a run of breakages at the moment.
The latest casualty being my Heat Gun!!
I went to use it last night and it was dead as a door nail.
Hence the title of the post as this is not the card
I had planned to show as my latest inspiration
for my Butterfly Challenge.
A not so quick change of plan was needed
which also nearly came unstuck when I found I didn't
have a white ink pad but by this time I was desperate
so 'London Fog' had to suffice instead.
I watched this video by Jennifer Mcguire
on White pencil highlights for Stamping
and decided to have a go.
I used Crafts-Too you Square scalloped edge die PCD 77
and Woodware Stamp Camellia JGS 254
Th butterflies/gems and white colour pencil
were from my stash.
Backed onto dark blue pearlised paper and a scalloped card blank.
Iv'e ordered a new Heat Gun so watch this space
for the intended card!!!

this looks lovely valery. really pretty. hope the breakage run had ended!
Lovely even if not as planned. I know my husband would be far more upset than I if my heat gun didn't work...he is always borrowing it for his workshop. LOL
A fabulous creation! Thanks for playing at Creative Inspirations this fortnight! xxx
Your card is so soft and lovely even if this is not what you has programmed! The idea of white pen highlights is very good, the camelia seems embossed!
I wish you that your heat gun arrive quickly! In the mean time, I think that pheraphs you can try getting an iron very close without touching the paper...
Hugs
Great card, love the flower and the stamping.

Gorgeous card ValeryAnne. Gosh must be dreadful to loose your heat gun. I can't without it. Lucky for me I have a spare one because I also use it a lot in my craft classes. I will try to play along now the craft show is finished I have a little bit more time.
Hugs, Veerle x
Lovely card, Mrs A, even if it's not what you planned. Hope your new heat gun arrives quickly. xx
What a shame about your heatgun Mrs. A but the card you came up with is super. Great inspiration. Barbxx
What a disaster, a broken heat gun! I'd have to order one for express delivery, couldn't go more than a day or two without it. But you've overcome the problem with a really beautiful card, and it persuaded you to try a new technique too, so it was probably a good thing that it went when it did

It's typical Mrs A, these things always happens when we least want them. But what a striking creation, it looks like parchment craft with the delicate colouring.
See you over at the Playground and don't forget to pop up to the treehouse for a tipple.

Sounds like you did well to come up with this pretty alternative card! Xxx
A great card Mrs A - a new technique tried so maybe you should thank the heat gun!!
Great improvisation and such a clever idea. The soft tones work beautifully x
Hi Mrs A,
wouldn't you just know that once one thing goes others has to follow.
Love you fab card, and that stamp is awesome.
Not seen this technique must take a look.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Well done on overcoming adversity! Pretty floral card. Sounds like hooch time to me!

You came up with a very pretty alternative, I like the look of that technique.

We're having breakages too, most majorly the heating. Brr.
That technique is really effective, I'll go and look it up. Look forward to the original plan, too.
It was all meant to be as you've created something very beautiful here Mrs A! You know these things happen in 3's, right? xx
Thank you so much for your visit to my blog. I am sorry you have been having troubles with Blogger, too. It is a real pain. I am totally fascinated by your work. I have been going down your posts and looking at and reading about the processes you have followed to get you final pieces. I especially love the Shaker card and the way you work with the roses. You certainly are talented. Your work is beautiful.
It may not have been what you planned Mrs A but it sure is beautiful xx
I've been suffering with chronic bouts of insomnia so am up way too late. Those heat guns do have a tendency to go when you need them the most, been caught out more than once myself so I have two now. This is beautiful and shows the technique Jennifer McGuire shared perfectly, I also follow her blog, she is good with sharing techniques and tutorials Karen xx
Not as planned but still absolutely beautiful!
Hope you're having a great weekend :o)

I feel sorry for you running out of the heatgun. But instead of using it you made a gorgeous card anyway. White/blue is one of my favorite combinations.
And I see now that I have won the candy and I am thrilled about that! Lucky me...!!!
I will write an e-mail as well. Thank you so much already.
Hugs,
Lia xx
absolutely beautiful.xx
It might not be what you planned, but it is lovely xx
Very pretty, regardless! :) So glad you came Through ‘The Craft Room Door’ to play! Can't wait to see more of your talent!
Hugs,
Karen C
Your *not as planned* Anything Goes card for the ATSM challenge is sheer delight! Such a lovely rose and you've used Jennifer's technique perfectly! The wee butterflies add such charm...
