A Pile of Boxes.

My next new shape.
Little Origami Boxes
made from old Christmas Cards!

At the local craft club which I go to
Jenny showed us how to make
an origami box from a 6" square used  Christmas card.
Of course once I got home I just had to make some more
and decorate the outside too.
I raided my snippets for embellishments.
Now I'm surrounded by little boxes!!

I made a few alterations to Jenny's design
and will do a tutorial next week on how to make  them.

A 6" card front will give you a finished box top of 2.25 "

The smaller your card square the smaller the box will be.
The one above with the red bell is 1.75 "

Just the right size to put a chocolate inside
or maybe a small present such as earings.

Entering into the following challenges:

Also entering here  but not sure if my entry truly  complies even  though it started life as a Christmas card and is still technically a Christmas card albeit 3D so tonge in cheek :

Agh! These are just perfectly pretty Mrs A! I LOVE them. Have made them myself before but using your Christmas cards is such an inspirational idea. You'll have such a lovely time thinking up little gifts to put in them for next Christmas.

And just want to thank you for sticking with my blog through my woeful neglect and none commenting the last few months - you are such a good blog friend! xx

Wow, these are brilliant Mrs A - do remember the tutorial!

Fabulous upcycling - but it still won't break my resolve for no horse in the Playground :)

What a lovely idea and they've turned out great too. I usually keep my cards and turn them into gift tags for next Christmas (except the hand made ones). Your craft club sounds like fun. Look forward to seeing your own tutorial xx

Ah Mrs A. Just clever as clever you are... Who else would think of making cards into little gift boxes. Beautifully made.
Mm re the horse I think we'll need a sleigh with all the cold you've had over there in the playground. :)
