Either a Doorstop or a Bookend I thought.
An old serviette torn into pieces and some Mod podge soon had the bottle covered.
A quick coat of match pot paint in Voilet White .
Once dried ready for the top sheets from the paper servettie.
This is the back of the finished bottle.
The pattern on the serviettes was flowers and butterflies.
I gave the bottle a final coating of the violet white but watered down this time.
The front of the bottle with flowers, ribbons, hessian, butterfly and pearls from stash.
I made this to show on My Butterfly Challenge.

What a brilliant idea. Loved your start to finish project and an amazing outcome. I may have to pinch an old whisky bottle from my brother in law to see what I can come up with. Thanks so much for sharing with us at CWD.Ina.

These will make fab book ends!! Will it take long to get your hands on the new bottle though?? :)
Gorgeous 'up-cycling' project! Thanks so much for participating in our Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge.
I reckon the book ends are a safer option. I would be worried about using glass as door stops, with the risk of wind slammed doors at the moment. That finished one is so pretty. xx Maggie #15
I love what you have done with the bottle and you are right it is too good a shape to waste.
What a kick off for your butterfly challenge (which I'm hoping to create something this afternoon when I finish playing catchup!). Only a true crafter could see the possibilities in this bottle. We often get what I think is a 'nifty bottle', but I never can think what to do with it. You successfully created something beautiful with this one! Kudoes to you. TFS & Hugs.
I should think you'll be able to make quite a few of these pretty doorstops! Especially now Doctor Marks & Spencer has saved the day!, x
Totally gorgeous!
WOW!! Love your creative mind.
First it was an empty bottle but now it looks really superb!!
Happy Valentine Day!!
Awesome. This has got my creative juices flowing. It's fortunate that alcohol is the answer, whatever the question!
Oh Mrs A . . . brilliant recycling/upcycling here! Thanks for sharing how you did it. I've just got hold of some Mod Podge . . . now the sky is the limit! xxx
So pretty! Who knew such a manly bottle could come out so pretty and feminine. I laugh that now you can have bookend. Get to drinking!
Wow Mrs A, stunning project, thanks for explaining how you did it, Cathy x
