Y is for Year.

This weeks Alpha challenge over at The Craft Barn is to use the letter Y but with an added twist. You must use the colour yellow somewhere on your page.  Well there are not many pages in the dictionary for the letter Y but one word caught my eye in particular, Year.
A lot of the other entrants have chosen to decorate their dictionary pages in situ but I decided to take my pages out and make a small separate booklet. At the end of the year (we are doing a letter a fortnight) I will have 13 pages (double sided) plus a front and back cover. We are just over the half way mark now and my booklet is really beginning to take shape.
Anyway I digress as  to why I chose the word year. Well as this will have been a year long project when completed I thought a page which depicted the actual year created would be quite appropriate .

Page has been coloured using watered down poster paint. Months are from current and old calendar pages. Ribbon from stash and letter created using  Sizzix alphabet strip 656133

Entering into the following  challenge:
The Craft Barn: Alpha letter Y using the colour yellow.

  1. Great page there Mrs A. You will have quite a book there once you have finished.
I bought a dictionary to do this challenge and I still haven't done any! Ooops!
Now when is this twampoliney fingey going to arrive then? I promise you there will be no pins in it...javelins maybe but no pins!!

  2. Brilliant idea Mrs A - sums it up nicely and a lovely page.

Javelins? Oh no - now I'm putting my foot down with a firm hand!

    Hugs, Di xx

  3. I like how you are creating your altered dictionary pages in a ring binder. Having fun...

  4. Your Y for year is so appropriate for your project...will you make it the cover perhaps...hmmmm....

  5. What a great idea to do it as a book. I gave up mine after the first week - no staying power me x

  6. You always have good ideas!
    Sue xxxxx

  7. Another of your great pages Mrs A hope you had a lovely day x

  8. Good thinking on your choice of the word. Love the bright yellow chosen to go along with the word. You'll have a wonderful book when you've finished all the assignments & projects. TFS

  9. Funny how I overlooked the obvious - what a great way to interpret year - so relevant to what we are doing, and I see you have a 'thingy' which says you have made 37 christmas cards!

  10. love this!
