Steam Punk Collage.

My tag for this weeks Tag Tuesday Theme are all found items collected up from my late FIL's home. We collected over 50 keys from around the house and never did find which locks they fitted but I kept them anyway for crafting. The other bits were found in odd drawers and put in with the keys. I used 2 of the larger keys (on a recent swap) and whilst looking through the tin of keys thought that some of the bits and bobs would make a good 'Found Objects ' Tag. They made me think of steam punk so I decided to go with that idea. I found this steam punk collage on a great site called Free Vintage Digi Stamps and painted over the background using a brown watercolour pencil. Matted onto thick card and punched out a tag from my XCut nesties. The edges were rubbed over with Inka Gold and a few dabs put on the front too. The bits and pieces were randomly glued in place , a string hanging attached and as they say "Bob's your Uncle" one tag finished!

I'm starting to see more paper crafts here than fabric crafts Mrs A, is this a worrying trend??!! Love this tag, great colours and embellishments, the keys are perfect. Yes, it took ages to cut those fiddly snowflakes. I had intended to cut them all out and put the spares in my stash box but I couldn't be bothered with that in the end!!

That's gorgeous, Mrs A. love the colour and the keys! We were left a little basket of keys when we moved here - about 40 I reckon and only two we ever found a use for, and one of those broke in the lock about a week after we moved in!
Have a chocolate lime and I'll meet you by the paddling pool

Fun tag! Great to see an unusual shape, and it's so cool that the keys are real instead of mass-made craft goods (not that I'm against those, either :)).

great shape for the tag and yes we too have a box of 'mystery keys' which occasionally end up in the craft area. usually the kids play with them, for their tree houses and camps in the garden. I even got a phone call from a worried headteacher a couple of years ago cos one of them had taken a large bunch to school with them! She thought they might be car keys or house keys lol. Have a lovely weekend. heidi x
