It's 3am and this is whats on my desk. I'm still up cos The ATC card on the right is waiting for the glitter glue to dry so that I can put the mask on and take a photo and post onto the flckr group that its the last day for uploading to. While I'm waitng I found this old knitting pattern dated April 20th 1959. Sis and I each made one of the little Tessie bear with the frilly skirt. She stood about 3" tall. The bears have long gone but the pattern has survived!!!
To the left you can just see my next project. Nearly DIL has asked if I can make the ring cushion for her. The picture is what she would like me to make as near as. So far I have found beads in the right colour to match the bridesmaids dresses and now need to run up a few different heart shapes in plain cotton so NDIL can choose the shape and size.
Lastly you can just see a pin cushion sitting on top of my sewing machine. This was a swap I received. Mine is still enroute to USA.
If your wondering why I'm showing you my desk at this unearthly hour then why not pop on over to Julia's blog where all will be revealed.
Ok the glue is dry!!!!!!!

Love the little knitty pattern and your machine cover is so neat!! I have a list of things I would like to do to tidy up my room - 2 machine covers and a doorstop for starters - I seem to get side-lined - today it was little frock day - tomorrow I have orders for 2 more knight outfits!
LOL! from a fellow night owl! If only those mornings did not come so darned early! Love all your projects! That ATC is amazing. thanks for sharing! Have a great WOYWW! -Amanda #149
PS- I have blog candy in honor of Valentine's Day. Pop on over and visit for a chance!
I used to have lots of knitting patterns like that - I remember that Woman's weekly and other mags used to have lots of patterns that I used to collect. Love your ATC (Hazel, WOYW #136) x
So when are you going to make some of those so so cute bears. ...omg 1959 ...my first year at senior school i think ...Eddie Cochran died ..and I cried for a week.
Nice job. Love that you can make it that late and still be so chipper.
Oooh gorgeous projects, Mrs.A! I love old patterns... they bring back so many happy memories. Your NDIL will love the ring cushion and will treasure it, I am sure. I do love your sewing machine cover! So pretty. I must make a cover for Sheba (my Black Cat Cougar cutting machine) to stop spray glue and glitter getting into her delicate works when she's not in use lol!
Thanks for hopping over to my blog and for your comment. I am certainly not going to throw the reject butterflies away as I am sure I can use them for something. If you don't examine them too closely the non-cut out bits don't show too much!!
Happy WOYWW, Shoshi #35
I love the old pattern and the story you told. Can't believe you stay up that late, but glad you did.
Well I'm back to see your desk, now. Darling bear story, too. Very nostalgic. AGAIN, happy WOYWW from #3.

Hi there Mrs A do love your desk - and that pattern looks very like my teddies except they are male and female, and I kitted the Bertie and Nanna knitted the Bessie, in the mid 60's. I was still at school and Nanna was visiting us. Pattern very similar girl but different colours - amazing how things stand the test of time! TFS and happy WOYWW! Shaz in oz.x thanks for popping over too, and well done on being UIU for 2012.
very creative space--
thanks for a peek..
