Pick up a Penguin.

Still not up to blogging but again this was a post I had prepared earlier in the month for posting .
It's time again for another card over at the Christmas Card Club.
This time the theme has been set by Carol who is asking for
Penguins.
If we didn't have a penguin we were allowed to use an alternate
Christmas Bird.
I didn't have any penguin stamps or digi's but I did have an old recycled card
so I used that instead!
I used a silver card blank and matted with DP.
by Dovercraft from their Back to Basics Christmas. Pack
Old recycled card had a row of 5 penguins but I decided to cut it down to 3.
Die cut using Spellbinders 'Majestic Elements '
Matted onto red card also by Dovercraft and Die cut using the same  set.
Greeting was salvaged from bottom of the card and matted onto the red.
Raised up with 3d strip to give dimension.

For Dad.

Thank you for all your kind comments regarding my Mum.
Each and every one has been much appreciated.
Dad has now been told but how much he took in we don't know. He has not asked or talked about Mum since so hope that he has accepted it in one small part of his world.
I wasn't going to post this as I still do not feel up to blogging  but the card was made ages ago and the post had been sitting in my scheduled list.
This is the card I made for my Dad for Father's Day.
SU card stock used for the base
I used an old recycled card for the image which I think he will enjoy looking at.
The letters were cut from the leftover SU card stock using
Sizzix Alphabet die 656133.
Picture die cut using Spellbinders 'Romantic Rectangle'
and mounted on white card.
I used my mini Hougie board to emboss the raised  lines around the edges.

Cotton Anniversary.

I recently made this  2nd Wedding Anniversary card.
I had fully intended making one of the new folding pop up cards
that are so popular right now but somehow it
morphed into a joy fold card!!

DP. are digis by Bearly Mine.
The plain cotton weave pattern is from their 'Steam Punk Fantasy ' collection.
Flower pattern  is from their 'Floral Fantasy collection.
Card shown in the closed position.

Fully opened.
I wanted something to connect the two corners
showing the names and this pile of  crem cotton threads was on my desk.
A light bulb moment so I tied them together and glued across the diagonal join.
Simples!!
Cotton for 2nd Anniversary!!

Back of card for the personal greeting to be added.

New Home (Leaving).

Our neighbours of 11 yrs recently moved out .
4 kids later and they ran out of space so have gone
to another property in the village with more room.
This is the card I made for them.
I didn't realise at the time I made the card  but the digi is actually
a fair likeness of their new home!
DP. is by Alison Butler. Adhered to blank card and distressed round edges.
Coloured card stock by SU and given the same treatment.
Digi by Spyders Web.
I coloured in using Promarkers to match the papers.
Die cut using Spellbinders 'Majestic Elements'
Pearls from stash.
Stitching done by hand.

Inside of card using more of the DP.
Wording created on computer and printed off.

Blogging problems!

Finally managing to be linked up without the Internet dying on me every. 5mins. Though I still do not have my email working which links to blogger, can only see my reading list when  it feels like it and some of your blogs appearing  as a totally black screen but I am here!!  Will be around you all to comment ASAP. Till then hugs Mrs A.

Natvivity Scene.

It's time for another make over at the Christmas Card Club.
This time the theme has been set by Sue J. who is asking for
A Nativity Scene.
Now this nearly had me running for the hills
until I remembered that I had a nativity scene by Woodware which had come
in a Craft Barn £15 goody box ages ago.
The original concept for this card was to make  a Joy Fold card
but it sort of got way laid and has a folder missing and a belly band instead!!
Don't ask me  I'm just the maker!!!
Card base is made from  SU Card Stock.
Red card came from Hobby Craft.
Stripey paper off cut from Dovercraft's Back to Basics Christmas pack.
Sentiment created in word and printed off to match the stamped wording.

Card with belly band removed.
This stamp set has several elements in it so I created a scene for each page.
Image is a modern design which I stamped in Memento 'Tuxedo Black'.
I decided to leave  as is to give visual impact.

Inside of card.

Back of card.

Reverse of belly band with space for adding a personal greeting.
