Chasing Tails

Loosing all sense of time here and forever chasing my tail in an endeavor to keep up. Not that I am doing anything other than foraging and hunter gathering in order to continue getting  essential supplies delivered. Currently I have managed to deflect The Doc's wails of  'Yes, but I will have  to go out at some point because I will need..........'  So far have bought a Trickle charger (2 in fact as the first supplier was  running very slow on delivering) for his car,  replacement batteries, a battery tester, hair trimmer and trellis work for the garden. Busy sourcing flour at the moment but need to get the neighbours on board for that as it will be a bulk purchase!! Also looking at ways of making my own sourdough culture.
Anyway I am late for the party again. In  my defence  I did sit and make all the cards last night though but then got distracted this morning with jobs that needed to be attended to in the garden before the ground frost bites tonight(.Not loosing my precious tomato plants after the trouble I took to purchase and then get special trellis pots for them.)
So it was Margaret's turn over at the the Christmas Card Club to choose the theme for todays show and tell which is A Christmas Door/Window.

I have used a selection of ready coloured images from Lili Of The Valley's 'Snowy Scenes art pad set 31' which just happened to have a Front Door and several Shop Windows.  Simples!!!

Card 1.
The images are all quite small on their own so I created borders for them. On this card I simply made  a card base from green cardstock and cut a window in the front using my Crafts -Too Stitch hole Rectangle dies set. Backed with red card and attached the door image onto the inset. The sentiment is a silver sticker from my stash. It looked a bit unfinished until i added thee Ivy leaf corner sticker.

 Card 2.
The borders are die cut from cardstock that I have which exactly matches the green colour in the image but camera is showing it up here a much lighter shade. Cardbase made from burgundy cardstock and the sentiment /studs are holographic stickers from my stash.

 Card 3.
I thought the tangerine cardstock really showed off the brickwork  in this image and I again used the  burgundy cardstock to create the basecard. Sentiment/ studs and edging were gold stickers in my stash.

 Card 4.
I just picked out the light and dark greens in the image and created multiple layers using the different size stitchole die cuts. Sentiment and stars were stickers from my stash.

Hope you like my selection Margaret. I have a special card to make now for tomorrow so mustn't be late on producing and a cake to bake.

Lovely cards Mrs A, a great selection of door/window images too.
These certainly are strange times and I feel as if most of my time is spent organising grocery deliveries, but fortunately DD has been able to get some flour.
Stay safe, Hugs, Avril xx

A great selection of cards Valery...lots of lovely traditional doors and windows and all so Christmassy....
We are still only going out once a week for groceries and by timing it right there have been no queues and only a couple of people in the store and all keeping well away from each other.....so we feel safe.....we tried online deliveries but had to wait over 3 weeks for a slot....
We will get through it and we continue to stay home and safe....take care xxxx

A brilliant set of card VA, LOTV did some really great pre-coloured images, they may still, but I haven't looked for ages. Met up with Di there, quite a few years ago now.
I am really getting worried, my memory seems to have deserted me and I am definitely going 'Stir Crazy'

Despite the forces conspiring against you you've produced a gorgeous set of cards here Mrs A! It's amazing how much time our 'hunter/gathering duties take up! Hope your tomato plants survive the frost and you manage to get the flour...haven't seen any in the shops here for weeks.
Stay safe and sane

A beautiful collection of Christmas cards, Mrs A. You HAVE been busy. Flour is scarce here too, I was lucky enough to have a couple of bags in the cupboard before the lockdown. Hoping to get another bag when we go out for our weekly shop this week. Plenty of loo rolls everywhere now! LOL! xx

Terrific cards Mrs A. I very nearly used the LOTV door image myself to make a second card - but I ran out of time.. The time just seems to disappear these days. I'm sure somebody has sneaked a few hours from each day - it's the only explanation!!! Believe it or not I went to Sainsbury's to do my two weekly shop and out of the corner of my eye I spotted FLOUR!!!!! I couldn't believe it. It found its way into my trolley pdq I can tell you. John can have his cakes again. Take care and stay sfe. Hugs Christine x

It certainly is an ongoing foraging exercise, I was doubly lucky with my order last week as I got SR and Gluten Free flour, but that was the first in weeks. Other than a bulk 20kg bag on e.bay, was so happy and was going to share, it arrived and they sent plain instead of the SR I had ordered, they apologised when I kicked off and said they had run out of SR. Plain would have been OK'ish if the other raising ingredients were readily available but they are not.

Back ti craft and a super collection of seasonal cards.

Great selection of cards for the challenge. I think we've all reverted to being hunter-gatherers in our quest for supplies to be delivered - main one seems to be 'hunt the delivery slot' - frustrating to say the least.

Gorgeous Christmas cards my friend! Don't run yourself too ragged over groceries - she says, sitting up until 2am frequently to watch for new slots. Sainsbury's are opening up to non-vulnerable shoppers a bit, which naturally means getting delivery slots is even more a game of chase! We've had a stream of other non-food online shopping here as well - even when this is lifted for us 'oldies', we'll give it a few more weeks to see if the'R' magic number goes back up. No point getting this far then falling at the final hurdle is there. So pleased the trickle charger(s) finally turned up for you. Would you believe, our quite large upright freezer is trying to play up. Dear god, that's our life line and you can't buy them right now for love nor money. Now we have temperature gauges in a couple of the freezer drawers to monitor and a remote alarm in the kitchen. The stress, the stress! Stay safe and tie the Doc down if you have to! Your immune system isn't brilliant at the best of times.

Sending hugs

You have made a great number of fabulous upcycled cards!

Great images each and every one. I loved the one with the shop window as I remember those shop wondows from my first visit to England, when I was a teenager!

Take care
