Time once more for the girls in the Christmas Card Club to show our makes. The theme for today was chosen by me 'Red Berries'.
I very nearly shot myself in the foot over this as I had selected my choice at the end of last year knowing full well that I had a couple of used christmas cards with berries on them!
Then I went and made my NewYears Resolution to not only use a recycled card but also make a card from the stash of stamps,/diecuts/stencils / embossing folders in my craft room.
Eek!!!!
I had to delve/dig and deep but I did eventually find a never before used embossing folder of sorts.
Day Saved!!!!
First up though is the card (read that as 2) that I made using the recycled christmas card from my stash . The original card had a row of 3 miniature (should have taken a piccy before I dismantled it) pictures of berries with a simple 'Seasons Greetings' underneath.
I cut out the pictures and trimmed 1 onto cream card and the other 2 onto red card and made the following cards.
I used a red blank card base.
Floral trim is actually christmas bias binding from my stash.
The circles die cut was sent to me by a good blogging buddy.
I cut the sentiment out and added at the bottom.
Cream blank card base this time .
Tartan card is another card base cut down to fit.
Merry Christmas is silver foil ribbon trimmed and adhered to red card.
Spotty Ribbon from my stash.
Finally the card made using a Sizzix Metal Embossing Folder originally designed to be used with the Sizzix Personal Die Cutter in conjunction with the Sizzix System Converter!!
Yep, I had never heard of these either but I do remember picking a pile (read 5) of these metal dies up going dirt cheap years ago from a sale box. They work perfectly in my Sizzix big shot. This one is called Holly Berries 38-9547
I have used a green blank card base.
Holly card is another card base cut down. Frame is a sizzix Scallop rectangle die cut which I have put through an SU Decorative Dots embossing folder.
Velvet leaves and berries are a really, really old table decoration from my MIL.
(Just knew it would come in useful one day!)
Chipboard bauble sentiment is by Scrapmatts.
Close up of the embossing using the metal folder from sizzix.
Turned out to be a bargain buy in the End.

Oh, these three cards are so beautiful, Mrs.A!! Love how you have recycled the berries frames, they look so well in both the cards! The circles die cut frame in the first one matches really amazing with the shape of the berries, wow! And also the dotted red ribbon in the second one, you have made a perfect match with the details, thanks for the inspiration!
Love the last card too, with the so impressive embossing, great works!
Have a happy Sunday!

Hello Valery, firstly thanks for the fabulous theme, I love it, and your own cards are fantastic, I love the way you upcycle your old cards, it's very creative, love everyone of them, Kate x
Thank you for a fun challenge Valery and you made me smile when I read that you thought it was a good idea at the time of setting this challenge and then when it arrived it caused a bit of bother. I've done that a couple of times and asked myself 'WHY". I love your cards and you've done another fab job of up cycling and using stash. Well done. Zx
Love all of these makes, why does red berries make me think of yoghurt?! Cara x
Both of your cards are fabulous!
A lovely trio of beautiful berries Mrs A. Thanks for a lovely challenge. Carol x
I am so admiring you for sticking the recycle resolve, and you never disappoint. You amaze - though, with all these gorgeous & cleverly made cards. Each one is a beauty, and certainly you've aced your own Berries challenge with each. Well done, INDEED! TFS and thanks for a challenge, that the effort took me quite a bit out of my comfort zone, with how I decided to meet the challenge! (and I had lots of holly stamps & dies...might have been smarter to use one of that ilk, instead of what I did! LOL). Hugs

First, I'm so glad you weren't injured while delving and digging. It was worth it though because the cards are so pretty. I like how you divided up the berries and made two cards from them and what pretty cards they are. The holly card is great too and I love that you used a table decoration to trim it.
I'm always impressed by those who recycle cards into new and lovely creations! Your collection of cards is beautiful, and I love those berries too!
What a wonderful array of goodness, Mrs. A.!! You have been creative and productive with your upcycling! I swear I have that same berry photo cutout that you used in your first card, cut from an inbound card years ago! It made me chuckle and now I have a design idea for using it!! Hugs, Darnell
All your cards are just lovely and showcase Christmas foliage perfectly. Thanks so much for playing along with 52CCT this week! Deborah, DT.
That holly embossing folder is great! Thanks for making 52CCT part of your crafting fun.
