Return To Sender.

Time for another challenge over at
Crafting From The Heart
The sponsor for this week
is

We were given some images to  use
and I chose this 'Return to Sender' for my card.
To me it conjured up lost love
so I made my card  vintage and shabby chic.

I printed off the envelope image and made it up into
an actual envelope shape which I then screwed up.
After flattening out again I used some inks still on my
ink daubers to give it an aged look and just for
good measure rang it through my Big Shot.
I think it looks like it has been round the block a bit now!
Used a cream card base and then bits and bobs still out
on my desk. Well it beats putting it all away.
The backing paper is from some sheets I marbled
a few weeks ago at craft class. The roses are die cut
from another sheet  . Green doily, canvas butterflies,
lace, green  rose shape ribbon and square pearls
completed the look.

The theme is Anything Goes as usual
and we would love to see you entering
your projects.

Hot Cocoa

has a digital Stamp Of the  Month challenge.
This month the digi is'
'Snowman and Cocoa.
It is a progressive challenge so
if you enter in the month then the next month
you get sent the next digi free,
I missed out January but you can purchase the image for $1.
It's as good job there are 29 days this month
as I've left it a tad late!
No excuses as I have had the digi sat on my desk for sages.
When I first saw this image  I immediately
thought of this die cut to go with it
so just had to make a card using them both.

It is not very clear from my photo but the diecut
is X cut's Jigsaw pieces.
I coloured the image using my promarkers and silver gel pen.
The background is done with pearlescent  blue chalk.
I stuck the whole image onto d/s sticky paper and then ran
through my bigshot.  Peeled off the backing sheet and
proceeded to remake the jigsaw leaving the last piece out and
sticking at an angle.
Snowflake paper is by Sally Denton and is adhered to red
card and then onto a green card base.
Green sequins to finish off.
Sentiment is part of the snowman digi set.

Qwackers!

It's Rudolph Day time again.
Hosted by Maureen on her

I was determined to use this
Penny Black stamp that I won  a while back
on Di's blog 'Pixie's Crafty Workshop'.
I hunted around on my desk
for inspiration and my eyes lighted on some
acetate packaging that embellishments
had been in and so this  Shaker Card was born.

Base card was made from gold card stock which I
put through a Crafts -Too embossing folder
called  'Twinkle'.
As there was a small lip all the way around the acetate
I used my Sizzix Scallop Rectangle to die cut a
frame to cover so that the ds tape would not show
when  I attached to the front of the card.
I used a piece of silver glitter card stock to  make the backing
for the acetate box and enclosed Doodle Loots
Crystal Mini Stars inside for the shaker element.
The stamp was coloured using my promarkers and fussy cut.
Sentiment created in word and also fussy cut out.
Gold stars from  my stash.

Glittered Butterflies

The New Theme/ Colour
for my Butterfly Challenge is

Here is my inspiration for you.

Base  card is made from Purple card stock
which I die cut 3 different butterflies from.
I cut a panel from spare card stock to fit behind
first covering  in strips of ds tape before adhering.
With the sticky side now showing through on the front
I covered with Beadazzles in  the colour 'TuTu' and a little
silver glitter for good measure.
Both from my stash.

I used 3 strips of silver edging to divide the front
into two panels and on the left hand side
added a Japanese vase and a flower from
silver stickers in my stash which
I thought went well together.

Here is a close up of the butterflies
showing the glittery Beadazzles.

Hope you will play along with the new challenge.

Icicles

I'm continuing to loose one gain one,
loose one with my followers.
Beginning to be a bit of a cat and mouse game!
Also though I can access my Dashboard
from my Ipad I cannot see my readers list or
write a new blog post up.
Anyone  else having the same problem?
It's annoying as I like to be downstairs of an evening
and not glued to the internet upstairs.

Right. Moan over.
It's time once again for the
girls in the Christmas Card Club to show
our next batch of cards
Kate has chosen the Theme of
'Icicles'.
This one I freely admit had me well and truly stumped!
But as I never admit defeat
looking through my stash of used  christmas cards
I found this picture of a  water mill which I cut down
slightly to make this new card.

I mounted onto silver glitter card and then onto
sage green card stock ( that picked out the colours of the water)
to make the base card.
Sentiment is die cut from a snippet of the glitter card
then I simply took my silver stickles bottle and created some icicles
hanging  from  the roofs, wheel, waterfall and the trees.
I took the picture with the card at an angle to catch the icicles.

I'm still sticking to my resolution to make one card from
my used stash and one from my stash of
stamps, embossing folders, diecuts , digis and stencils
which I have mostly never used.!
Could I find an Icicle amongst them?
Nope.
But
what is a snowflake if it is not an Icicle
so just keep that idea firmly in your head as I show you
my next card.!!

This snowflake E.F is by Spellbinders
M-bossibilities Winter Wonder  design B.
The empty space at the top was just crying out for a stamp.
I found this never used freebie  'Humphrey's Corner'
and sentiment (had been one long word but I cut it in half)
which I coloured with my promarkers and pearlised chalk
for the background..
Snowflake brad was in my odds tin on my desk.
The stamp had snow falling so I used liquid pearls to embellish.
Mounted onto white card and then grey pearlised cardstock.

As I was putting everything away
I still had this freebie  snowflake EF on my desk
that I had embossed onto a strip of white card.
Waste not want not!
10mins later a further Icicle card.

Silver Sentiment sticker and silver gems
completed the look.

Hope your all  enjoying what is left of the weekend .
I off to do a spot of sewing now.
hugs to you all.

Not as Planned.

I'm having a run of breakages at the moment.
The latest casualty being my Heat Gun!!
I went to use it last night and it was dead as a door nail.
Hence the  title of the post as this is not the card
I had planned  to show as my  latest inspiration
 for my Butterfly Challenge.
A not so quick change of plan was needed
which also nearly came unstuck when I found I didn't
have  a white ink pad  but by this time I was desperate
so 'London Fog' had to suffice instead.
on White pencil highlights for Stamping
and decided to have a go.

I used Crafts-Too you Square scalloped edge die PCD 77
and Woodware Stamp Camellia JGS 254
Th butterflies/gems and white colour pencil
were from my stash.
Backed onto dark blue pearlised paper and a scalloped card blank.

Iv'e ordered a new  Heat Gun so watch this space
for the intended card!!!

Rose Trio

I have Blog Candy in the post above.
Ends Friday 19th.

Now this card that  I'm about to show you today
is a bit of an odd ball because as I was making it
I kept thinking what if I do this, what if  I just add
and what if I tweak it a bit here and there,
so much so that the card is nothing like I had
planned out in my head.
I am pleased to say though that I like it very much.
Phew!!!

Time for another challenge over at
Crafting From The Heart
The sponsor for this week
is

I have chosen to work with a digi called
'Rose Trio'

So I started with the premise that I would
colour the image with my Papermania
water colour pencils which I did.
Then I had the notion to colour up an identical image
and place one on top of another.
Whilst colouring up the second image I sort of thought
what if I put one behind a sheet of vellum to mute it down a bit.
It was only at this point I thought I had better go and sort through
my pink stash of papers for a paper to go with the image that
I had already coloured twice!!
Second Phew as I found this freebie paper
by Sally Moret 2012 and cardstock in pink and green
that matched perfectly.
Next up I decided to cut a frame using
Sizzix  Scallop rectangle die 657905
which was actually  a tad smaller than my image.?
Not to worry I thought.
Next bright idea was to layer the design paper
on a green base then one of the images,
the vellum ,the die cut scallop and put the second image
over the top scrunching the flowers and leaves slightly to just
 overhang the frame work.
By this time I'm on a roll so added stickles  in Diamond and Holly
to the top roses and leaves.
The rose charm happened to be on my desk so had to get used as well.
I die  cut a small tag from the pink card and vellum  and used
a silver sticker for the sentiment at which point
I thought enough is enough.!!!!!

You can just see in this close up the first rose  image
covered with vellum which is behind the scalloped frame.

The theme is Anything Goes as usual
and we would love to see you entering
your projects.

Happy Valentine

I have Blog Candy in the post above.

I made a love heart for The Doc for Valentine's Day
and whilst I had everything out on my desk
made another one to show here.
This one is  much more girly!
I had a stash of cardboard heart shapes and can't  remember
where I got them from probably the NEC.
Anyway as they have a picot edge on them
I coloured around the edges on both sides
using a red promarker .
The red  rose design paper was an oddment in my
stash and I had just enough to cover 2 hearts on both sides.
I distressed round the edges before gluing to the bases.

I made the roses using my Spellbinder's Rose Creations die
and then blinged it up with bits and bobs .
The word is a silver sticker sentiment which I made a little banner for.
Red paper for the roses ,ribbon , pearl, pearlescent doves  and lace
all from my stash.
Would you believe it all the handles in my house
aren't a knob shape so I couldn't take a photo of it
hanging up so I ended up lying it down on white card
but you get the gist!.

My Friendly Acetate.

I hadn't quite realised how many
Custard tarts The Doc had consumed
till looking through my blue stash to make this card.

Oop's!
Best start using some of these box bases up then.

It is a new challlenge over at my Butterfly Challenge.

Here is my inspiration post for you.

My card uses acetate for the front with the stamped image and blue
custard tart card in the middle and blue card stock for the back

Stamps used are SU's  'Painted Petals'
and a new stamp company to me called Heyda that make
these little stamps which come on wooden pegs
(very similar to Cardio stamps idea  ).
Here I have used a Butterfly which is part of a set of 6 stamps.
I stamped using two coloured ink pads and built  the image
up one stamp at a time. Sentimnet is part of the SU set.

The card open showing the middle section.
Floral paper, zig zag braid, ribbon and
silver edging all from my stash along with the
used tart box.

Custard Tart Card

Every so often The Doc
buys his custard tarts from a shop
in town which pleases me as they come
in a nice reusable box that is yellow
instead of the blue strippy  ones I normally
squirrel away in my stash.

So what to do with the left over box?
Well with a bit of cutting ,gluing and imagination
you could make a shaker card with it

At the local craft club last week we were making marbled paper
and one of the pieces I had made  happened to be
yellow and pink. Just right for roses I thought!
I had left the acetate/plastic sheet attached to the front of the box so
this was ideal for the front of the shaker..
I adhered the base of the box to a cream blank card and then covered
up the writing on the box with a piece of the marble paper which
also served as the backing for the shaker element.
I used my Spellbinders Rose  creations die  to cut the roses out.
Gold/silver sticker butterflies attached to the front, gold foil butterflies
inside the shaker element and a gold sentiment sticker completed the look.

I have made this as the second Inspiration card
for my Butterfly challenge using the letter O for
I showed you U for Undulating last week.
If you hurry you still have time to enter.

Textured does it.

I have  Blog Candy in the  post above.

It is #3 challenge
over with the girls in the Christmas Card Club .
Rachel has chosen today's theme
'Texture'
I have kept to my new  resolution to use
1 used christmas card front and
 a stamp/supplies from my stash
for the 2nd one.

I found this challenge a hard one and very nearly
ran for the hills but it was cold wet and windy
last night so I persevered!

My first card  uses an old christmas card front.
Well actually it is the second card I used as the first one
I had selected with an Owl on it just wasn't working for me.

Quite a bit of texture here.
I created a base from blue cardstock and layered up with
a design paper from Nitwitstoo collection  'Crossteal'.
Next up was a layer of hessian that I frayed around the edges.
The next layer you can't really see is embossed with a bark effect.
The original image I was going to use on top of it
had been cut into an oval and this one is oblong.
It looked so good I didn't want to risk cutting it down
and spoiling the effect.
The bling and the wooden sentiment were in my stash.

My second card uses this Delightful
Nordic Christmas stamp by Crafter's Companion
called 'Christmas Cheer.
I fell in love with him straight away. There are 4 in the set
and I bought 2 of them. I coloured him with my Promarkers.
My texture is created by using green felt adhered
to a red card blank and then a layer of red card
which I have embossed  with a EF by Crafter's Companion
called 'Reindeer Parade'
I scruffed this up with some sand paper for more effect.
I used star stickers on his blanket for more texture.
More green felt die cut with a circle die and the wooden
sentiment by Scrapmatts was layered on top with 3D pads.
This was actually a bauble design but I removed the hanging bit
as I just  wanted the circle. (I did the same on the card above).

I finished the insid eoff with matching green card
and a left over piece from the embossed sheet.
