This project showcases
Wk 2 of my current Butterfly Challenge
So buy one 50p frame from the local charity shop.
Give it a coat of paint using matchpots in
'Violet White'.
Distress using Liquid pearls 'Majestic Purple'
by rubbing in along the grain of the wood
and sanding down to achieve a worn look .
Then have a good rummage in your stash
and go to town embellishing to your hearts desire.
I cut the butterflies from shrink plastic
using a couple of die cut butterfly frames.
Then coloured using my promarkers
before heating to shrink down in size.
Once I was happy with the colours
I allowed to dry and then gave each one
a good coating of glossy accents.
The photo in the frame is rather special
as it is the only known one in existence of
The Doc's Grandmother.
His aunt showed it to us and we asked to borrow it
to take copies of.
The original is in a bit of a state but I managed to retake
a photo of it and then download into my computer.
It is only a small size 2'x3' so I cropped and resized to
fit the frame and printed off onto good quality gsm card stock.
It is in black and white so I used
my pearlescent chalks to enhance the grass
and her clothing.
This is a surprise for The Doc's Aunt for this Sunday.

Brilliant creation, great use of the frame and at only 50p and I have to wonder now if I should bite the bullet and have a few more photo's taken for my Grandson's future so they will be able to remember me in years to come.

Some of these old photos are so valuable to us, not financially but just as part of our family history. By the way, glad to hear you have fallen for the new Groovi system from Clarity. I love it and cannot put it down. It is good for beginners and experienced parchers alike. Have lots of fun when it arrives, and show us what you create with it. xxx Maggie

Hi Val
Thanks for your comment of yesterday.....I just noticed it.
I am in a good place now thanks, though I can't be bothered blogging these days.
The bees! I can tell you where zone of them are; they are in our bedroom, in the wall. We can hear them buzzing and fussing all night. Last year they were in a bird box in our front garden, now they are that bit closer. They have white bums, I have forgotten their name. They are small and cute and don't bother people.
I have seen less butterflies this year....strange, I wonder where they have gone.
I love your frame, by the way.
Keep busy, keep safe

The word 'zone' should be the word 'some' ....but I think you could have worked that out.
