Rudolph Day Dash.

I missed playing last month due to my Internet
so was determined to do so this time round.
I'm leaving it a bit short notice but here is my card
As always it is anything goes and I decided to use
a pre printed LOTV image from Set 14
 'Festive Foilage' Art Pad.

I didn't start out to make an easel card it just evolved
into one.
I had the oval cut out from another card and it just fitted
the image perfectly so I adhered to front of image with 3D pads
to give a window frame effect.
I folded a blank card for the  easel shape and used
red cardstock to cover the inside and back.
The Merry Christmas bauble is a chip board piece from
Scrapmatts and came in a set of 15 different ones.
It just lent itself to being used as the stopper for an
easel card. Pearls and silver thread from my stash.

it did go on the blink Sunday morning.
Here is another inspiration card for

I have used a design paper by Kate Night called
'Spring Fling'
Adhered to a white card blank and edged with

The die cut is by Memory Box 'Norrland Flower'
which I have attached with a 3D sticky pad to give height
and stand out from the page.
Also given a brush over with the 'Ice Blue' chalk.
Sticker is a silver foiled one and Pearl from my stash.

Flowers and Butterflies.

This project showcases
Wk 2 of my current Butterfly Challenge

So buy one 50p frame  from the local charity shop.

Give it a coat of paint  using  matchpots  in
'Violet White'.

Distress using Liquid pearls 'Majestic Purple'
by rubbing in along the grain of the wood
and  sanding down to achieve a worn look .
Then have a good rummage in your stash
and go to town embellishing to your hearts desire.

I cut the butterflies from shrink plastic
using a couple of die cut butterfly frames.
Then coloured using my promarkers
before heating to shrink down in size.
Once I was happy with the colours
I allowed to dry and then gave each one
a good coating of glossy accents.
The photo in the frame is rather special
as it is the only known one  in existence of
The Doc's Grandmother.
His aunt showed it to us and we asked to borrow it
to take copies of.
The original is in a bit of a state but I managed to retake
a photo of it and then download into my computer.
It is only a small size 2'x3' so I cropped and resized to
fit the frame and printed off onto good quality gsm card stock.
It is in black and white so I  used
my pearlescent chalks to enhance the grass
and her clothing.
This is a surprise for The Doc's Aunt for this Sunday.

Pink It Is!

It's time again for the girls
in the Christmas Card club
to show their makes with the latest theme.
This was set by Karen who asked for
Pink & White , also use
black, silver or gold but little accents only.
Well this very nearly had me calling time
as I was pretty sure I had no pink cards
in my recycled christmas card box.
But I will not be beat!
I found these 3 card fronts that have a smattering
of a pink tinge to them.
That was good enough for me.
Here they are.
It might be very subtle but there's pink in them there cards!
Here is what I made with them.

I trimmed the edges of the snow scene with
my  Xcut corner puncher. I didn't want
to make the image any smaller as the signature
of the artist is on the bottom right. This is only half
of the orignal card as I had previously used
to make another card.
I backed with  gold mirror card which went well
with the brown trees. The snow has a lovely
pastel  pink hue to it which I picked out with the
Raspberry pink backing card.
Sentiment is a gold sticker along with  the stars.

I trimmed the oblong berry card down  and very
slightly enhanced the subtle pink glitter with my
pearlsecent chalks to give a deeper tone.
I used silver mirror card this time to reflect
the silver berries and cut a frame with my
Xcut Ornate frame die.
I backed with sherbert pink card stock.
Matching bow and pearls from my stash.

Finally the last one.
I couldn't get a decent photo showing
the pink glitter background as it's
stupid o'clock in the morning and
the light is playing tricks with my camera.

I made a tent fold card this time using the same
sherbert pink card stock.
I trimmed the scene down very slightly and adhered
pink ribbon on the one side to make a bow trim
before adhering to black card stock.
The chipboard sentiment is actually a bauble
but I cut the hook from the top to make the round
which just fitted the blank circle on the card.
Chipboard  is by Scrapmatts
Christmas ornaments CB 1227.

I hope I have used the black, silver and gold
as accents sparingly enough for your Karen!

Yay . We have the internet up and running
so I can get this posted.
 Not counting our chickens yet
(or having eggs for breakfast)
as we have been at this stage before.
Be round to see you all shortly
Internet premitting.

Purple Birthday.

Our internet is  still all over the place as
we had a power cut last week with the storms
which of course took our router off line again
so we are now back to square one trying to get it fixed.
Having to blog as and when I can.

My Butterfly challenge this fortnight is
#33 butterflies + F is for Flowers.
DP. is a freebie from a magazine. As I used the whole piece I don't have the designer name.
Die cut is Spellbinders 'Majestic Elements' a firm favourite of mine.
Stamp is by SU. 'Fabulous You'
Coloured using Promarkers.
Britannia word die used  for the sentiment.

Close up of the shoe.

There are two butterflies in amongst the flowers!
Can you spot them.

Bee-lieve

We have another challenge for you this week
at Crafting From The Heart.
The sponsors are
Deedee's Digis

And
Just Inklined  Digital  Stamps.

As always the challenge is Anything Goes.
Please pop over and see what my
Team mates have created just for you.
You have a week to enter and we would be
Delighted to see you.
I have chosen this image from
Deedee's digis called Bee- lieve
and coloured with my  promarkers and
Gold gel pen.

I have gone with another Easel card
But this time used a card base with a fancy edge.
Sort of mimics the beehive shape I thought.!!

The design paper is also by Deedee's digis which I have
adhered to a blank card and then distressed around the edges.
I fussy cut an extra  beehive and 2 flowers out
and used them on the front of the card.
The sentiment is by
Imagine That Digis .

Christmas Scene.

Time once again for the girls in
the Christmas Card club to show
their creations.
It was the turn of Kate to set the theme
and her choice was Christmas Scene.
So off to my box of  used Christmas card fronts
 I went  and turned up
another 2 suitable  ones
and as you will know by now I used them both!!

First up the Vintage style.

I liked this card front showing a vintage scene
of days gone by.
Again it didn't need much added to it
just a freshen up.
I used a cream card blank and addhered a smaller sized
piece of  pearlescent  rolled gold card stock on top.
I trimmed the card down slightly and used my inverted
corner chomper  to add a bit of interest to the shape.
There was a tag included in the original picture which
I thought looked a bit bland so  I simply made another one up
and popped over the top.
I used a  gold foil sticker for the sentiment
with a few matching stars and a snippet of silver gold
thread for the tag pull.
No one will be any the wiser apart from you
but you won't tell will you!!
Pearls for each corner completed the new look.

Second card is a little bit Whimsical.
Original card front was a lot longer but
I had the idea of cutting into 3 unequal panels
and overlaying the centre larger panel over the top
of the smaller side panels thus making a squarer shape.
The scene just lent itself to this idea and it worked perfectly
without loosing continuity of the scene.
I used  a white card blank for the base and covered
both the front and inside with red card stock.
I adhered the side panels on first and then the middle panel
on 3d pads over the top. Again not much else needed.
I die cut the corners using Spellbinders
'Marvelous Squares'
Once glued in place
4 pearls from my stash  finished the card.

Side view showing the overlay of panels.

So once again you choose.
Vintage style or A little bit Whimsical?

Sequined Butterfly

It's a new challenge over at
my Butterfly Challenge with the theme of
# 32 Butterflies + S is for Sequins.
Here is the card I have made
for your inspiration.
I did something similar
last year but I had made a larger one as
a picture  and framed it.

I have used orange/green sequins and
'Jazz' Beadazzles.
I drew a butterfly shape onto double sided sticky paper
then cut out and stuck one side onto my white
card blank. Peeled the other side off and then
went merry with the embellishments.
Green butterfly design paper from my stash.

Entering into the following challenge.
Pixie's Crafty Workshop # 178/179. Use your snippets. (Lots of sequins).

Sorry content is a bit sparse.
I have 3 scheduled posts left  up my sleeve so to speak
after that unless my Internet and email get fixed
I'm going to grind  to a complete halt.
I can't keep going with just my iPad  for company.
Hugs Mrs A.

Dove Post

It's time to reveal the card I made
For the MaySwap at the
Card Chain Challenge.
I chose the colour theme to work with
which  was Light blue, Medium blue and Grey
and sent to Dawn in N.Zealand.
I recently went to a class to learn how
to colour  using the Pointillist Technique.
I have already shown one I made since the class
and this card is another one using the bird stamp
we used.  I loved this stamp so much that
I purchased it to play with at home.
I have used a  white blank card for the base.
The blue stripey card is acutally the base from
The Doc's custard tarts carboard box
from a well known super market.
Blue die cut for the sentiment I purchased
from a craft fair which I still had in my stash.
The stamp is by Woodware 'Decorative Dove.'
I used my promarkers
to colour with the selected colour theme.
I  then mounted onto dies cut using
Spellbinders  A2 Floral Ribbon Threader.
Sentiment is black stickers
