Whimsical Hare

Time once more for the girls in the Christmas Card Club to show our latest cards. Best not be late as it was my turn to choose a theme and I asked for Winter Scenes.
Not been around much in blogland as have not been too Tickety Boo. I still have my Frozen shoulder but last weekend I also got bitten whilst sat  out on the patio and reacted very badly to the sting. Normally the antibiotics I have on hand do the trick in 3 days  but this time the bite just kept increasing in size and redness. I managed to get a telephone appointment at the surgery and was prescribed a really strong antibiotic 500mg  instead of the usual 10mg but it still took another 3 days to get under control. Then to cap it all (or not in my case) whilst taking the said pills above (which are huge and I  need to cut into three in order to take) the cap on my front tooth broke off. So phone call this time to the Dentist who managed to fit me in but they are not able to refit the cap as not enough left of tooth in gum to reattach too. They gave me 3 options and I have opted to have an implant. First part of the treatment will be next Week.. It will be quite a lengthy process and the song 'All I want for Christmas is my New Front Tooth'  springs to mind.
To take my mind off my woes I have been watching a lot of videos on You Tube  and saw Tracey from Lavinia Stamps making some really lovely  winter cards using masking techniques so these are my takes on two of them.

First Card  uses the standing up Hare from Tracey's 'Whimsical Hares' set. The trees are by Circdesign ' Winter Tree' . Distress inks for the shading and masking and glitter on the hills. The sentiment is a freebie from a Practical Publishing  magazine 2018.

Second Card  uses stamps from the same freebie set from Practical Publishing. The hills this time have a sprinkling of wink of stella on them along with the trees.

Hope you liked my choice of theme and I will be with you shortly to see all your makes.

  7. Poor you! You've definitely been through the wars- that insect bite sounds really nasty and breaking a tooth is no fun at all...and very expensive!!
Definitely hope you have a better week ahead.
Both your cards are beautiful- lovely masking and stamping, a wonderful frosty feel from all the white- just gorgeous.
    Take care

  14. Poor you, just a frozen shoulder must be enough. But no, an insect had to bite you and then your tooth broke. Such bad luck.
Good luck with the treatment of the implant.
    Your cards are wonderful!
    Take care.

  19. Two gorgeous cards Mrs A and I love that soft blue colour. Hope you are starting to feel better. John was stung on the face by a wasp the other day and he has had a bad reaction. One side of his face is very swollen and inflamed and his eye is still almost closed. The anti histamines don't seem to be having much effect so it might be a GP visit. And believe it or not - a cap fell off one his teeth too.!How coincidental is that? I do hope your insect bite starts to respond. The frozen shoulder is bad enough on it's own! Take care and look after yourself. I loved your challenge this time. Hugs Christine xx

  22. Lovely cards Mrs A.
    What a time you've had.
Those damn bites - I was bitten and like you always have an allergic reaction, the last one took 3 weeks to clear completely despite the pills/creams etc. I am now like a woman possessed when I go outside (not that there's been too much of that this week - the heat kills me) but I am armed with Fly Killer Spray just in case something dares to come into my space!
    take care. xx

  29. Hi Valery, gorgeous cards but they are making me feel guilty again. I started some Christmas masterboards ages ago and now they are sat there doing nothing. I would like to say we have plenty of time but I know Christmas will be here before we know it. Have a lovely creative week. Hugs, Angela xXx

  30. Hey Valorie, so sorry to read about your shoulder...that’s bad enough then add that nasty bee....not enough? Nothing like tooth trouble. You are really outdoing yourself. And yet you create 2 fabulous cards. You are an inspiration. I hope every day is filled with improving health. Hugs from me to you!

  33. This is such a beautiful card and I really love the blue and white color combo. That standing hare image is so whimsical and fun, and the touches of shimmer and shine add wonderful detail.
Good luck with your dental implant. I've had two of them and am glad of the option, but it is a long involved procedure. I'm sure you're looking forward to getting a new front tooth!

  34. Gosh you are going through it at the moment, if its not one thing its another - hope they all settle soon. Such beautiful cards, the scenes in blue and white are very stylish. Emma
