Birds of a Feather.

well I have to report that making
a clock this week on my blog
has not given me any more time!!
In fact 2 weeks seems to have spun round
in supper fast fashion as it's time
for us girls in the Christmas Card Club
to show you our makes.
Mary set the theme this week
which was to feature
A Cardinal or Christmas Bird.

This immediately conjured up  the idea
of Robins  so a quick delve into the  recycle bin
of used christmas card fronts and I found this cheery pair.

I trimmed the picture down to size and then layered
onto first cherry red and then gold pearlised cardstock.
I used a cream blank card for my base and adhered a
square of the cherry red card to it and then layered  the
robins on top. I then edged around the outside with strips
of gold foil to give the look of a picture frame.
The sentiment is a gold foil sticker given the same
treatment and adhered to front of card with 3D pads.
Below is the inside of the card
where I have used gold foil corners and more of the
edging srips.
Everything came from my stash.

As it would be a cardinal sin not to make
a card without a Cardinal on it
this one is just for you Mary!

The Cardinal is a pre coloured  dig image by Fred She Said
that I printed out onto cream parchment paper which
has a lovely texture to it like old writng paper.
I mounted this onto a piece of cereal box cardboard,
then layered up with the gold pearlised and cherry red cardstock
onto the cream blank card base. Some more gold sticker corners,
gold words and pearls from my stash complete the front.
Inside has the same treatment as the first card
layering up with more of the cream  parchment paper.

  9. I'm clapping my hands at #2, (as you can imagine!), but I'm also loving the wonderful robins (which don't look like the ones around here. Yours are much more colorful). Love the scenes on both these beauties, and I love the red & gold framing you've done on each. Wonderful cards for my challenge, and thanks for interpreting it so marvelously well. Hugs. (everyone was right. I DID adore them. Both!)
