Rainy Days.

The Theme over at Tag Tuesday this week is Rainy Day. I remembered that in my  Sunbonnet Sue quilt block  book there was a design with an umbrella so thought I could adapt it for a bit of paper piecing instead. The bit of lace just happened to be on  my desk so used that as the hanging.  The background paper was a freebie from a magazine and all the rest is snippets. Even the buttons are snippets! You know when you die cut flowers out you get the little circles from the centres? Well I keep those too!!!!  Oh yes. Nothing wasted here so coloured them with a pro marker to match the umbrella and then glued them in place.

Finally a bit of  glossy accents applied with a puddle at the bottom and here's my finished tag.

As I really have used snippets popping over to Pixies Crafty Workshop #42 to play.
Also the following challenges:
Cute Cards Thursdays: Paper Piecing.
4 Crafty Chicks: Tag your it.
Penny's Paper - Crafty: Anything but a card.

  2. I didn't think anyone was as good/bad as me at hoarding snippets. My friend Julie, who often comes to play at my house, makes huge fun of me. I don't think I've ever kept the centre of a flower though, Mrs A, so I shall have to keep that in mind for the future. Your paper pieced image is a cutie! And I love the rain drops and the puddle! Hugs, Lesley

  11. Ahhh very pretty Mrs A. Reminds me of my quilt I made last year. Are you going to make Overall Sam no?
I wonder what colour Teacher is going to pick for the Treehouse interior now. I thought it would be good for her to get some ideas with the paint charts. Oh yes. She has plasters....gotta think Elf and Safety too! There could be some nasty splinters occuring now. The plasters have Piglet on them!! Don't like Piglet...I am more of an Eeyore girl!

  12. This does look like Miss Sue! You did a lot of snippets on this'n. I saved 'tiny snippets' for a while, then ended tossing the lot. Another teacher said we NEVER toss babywipes used to blot...they make great flowers. (Hers did!) Mine stayed in a pile, and no flowers got made, so in a cleaning frenzy (don't happen often!)...I pitched a bunch of those too! You used your snippets (or snipperts as Darnell calls 'em & I like it!) to great advantage on this little umbrella girl. Thanks for sharing. Hugs

  13. Hi Mrs A, this is truly adorable. What a little cutie - fabby use of snippets. I can't believe you even keep the little centres of punched flowers - err, yes I guess I can believe it :)

You can help pick the tree house colours if you like :)

    Hugs, Di xx
