It was our SIL's birthday last week and this is the card I made for the occasion. I was trying to make it look like a tiered birthday cake of bottles but in hindsight I think I should have had another bottle on the bottom row and made the cake a bit wider. The stamp I was using for the bottle actually had a glass of wine and a bunch of grapes attached so I had to do a lot of stamping and masking.I coloured the bottles and vines with my promarkers and outlined the leaves using a gold gel pen. I love using this stamp set by Clear Impressions that came free in Creative Stamping magazine. It is so perfect for making male cards with.
The inside of the card showing the full stamp.
Wow, what a lot of masking that involved! I think that I would have had my eyes crossed by the time I had masked and colored all those bottles, but this is a fabulous result. I have a stamp set with wine bottles but never know how to color the bottles. Now I'll borrow your idea and go with a dark green, which looks perfect with the purple grapes.

Wow, what a fun idea for this card. A lot of masking but it is so fun. The gold outline on the leaves really brings them to life. I think she'll really like this. What is a shark's favorite sandwich? Peanut butter and jellyfish. Have a great weekend.

This is my kinda card! Stack 'em up, and then bottoms up! LOL just kidding, this is really a great card for someone who loves wine! I'm one of those weird ones that does not care for wine :)
ReplyDeleteI think the bottle cake looks just fine. That's a lot of fiddly masking & stamping, so I applaud your patience (and finite skills - I always seem to get a halo when masking!) Love the bright greens on this...I bet your SIL loved it! TFS & Hugs
