#85 Butterflies + S is for Silhouette and/or the colour Indigo
Here is some more inspiration for you. I don't know why my camera does this but when I took this photo yesterday it made the light box (I was taking it in )look decidedly pink and the lovely blue insert with the butterfly on came out a washed out white. The photo today has come out ok.
I have used dark indigo cardstock to make the base card and used my Crafts-Too Rectangle dies Stitch hole PCD98 to remove the centre leaving a border all round. The butterfly stamp is by Visible Image called rather appropriately 'Butterfly Inkcognito' and stamped using black ink onto pale blue cardstock. I then used the same die to cut a matching rectangle around the butterfly to fit back into the card front. The sentiment and the dots are black glitter stickers from my stash.
The second card which I took at the same time as the first one that came out wrong is perfect and was taken literally minutes apart . This really is a throw it together card. The blue strips where from the previous card. I had added them to a pile of strips of different colours that were still out on my desk and as I glanced at the pile an idea formed of using them up. The orange ones were on the top of the pile and looked so pleasing with the blue that I just sat and had a play with arranging them around on a white card blank. The butterflies were cut from the discarded centre of the previous card using a Memory Box die 'Cascadia Butterfly Trio'. Th sentiment is by Crafter's Companion Diesire and I cut it twice in snippets of the blue and orange card using orange on blue for the Best and blue on orange for the Wishes offsetting slightly to create the shadow.
Thankyou for all your well wishes for Sammy and Norm. As it has already taken him six yrs to get this far there is no need to rush out and buy a hat just yet and anyway guess who would get roped into making the Wedding Dress!!! I feel a headache coming on.
Thank you for sharing these two gorgeous cards with us. So creative and glad Sammy and Norm are not rushing in.... x

ReplyDeleteOh, I'd missed the post about your Dad passing away - just scrolled back and found it and it happened while I was at Mum's with no Internet. I'm so very sorry for your loss and that I'd not commented about it before.
ReplyDeleteYour cards, however, are beautiful. I've been dithering for ages about whether to get that gorgeous Visible Image stamp, I think you might have just "enabled" me.

ReplyDeleteHello you, had a fabulous afternoon with you fabulous Daughter, not only fabulous but very, very talented and patient. While I found it very difficult, as I am more used to colouring with Pro Markers, she was such a great help. Some nice people too.
ReplyDeleteI am going on holiday next Saturday for 12 days and seriously thinking of taking the remainder of the images to practice my colouring while sat in the sun.
Mmm, wonder why she decided to give me images of butterflies to colour, lol.
If she is coming back to Bailiff in the New Year then I will definitely love to go on her classes again. I meant to ask her, how on earth did they discover our little Community Centre for a venue, but forgot.
Was a tad disappointed that no-one but the class people came to the Dies to Die for shop, the brought a really huge supply of goodies, hope it worth their while.
