As the weather was lovely and sunny on Friday we managed to spend the day at a local Historic House that opens its grounds in February to show off the magnificent Snowdrops that they have growing naturalized amongst the trees in the park. We try and go every year and this year the snowdrops are particularly spectacular.
I forgot to take my camera with me but this is a photo we took a few Februarys ago and you can get an idea of what they look like with the sun shining down on them between the trees. So worth a visit.
This next photo is especially for Jane to show her my Hellebore that I mentioned on her blog this morning.

You can just see The Doc's fingers holding a flower up for me to take a photo. Unlike Jane's plant my blooms all seem to be camera shy!!
Need to get this posted as I'm running late as usual and the Internet is playing up again running extremely slowly.

You came up trumps with the recycled mountain scene. This is so pretty, and with the extra details you've cleverly added to the scene, it's lovely. Enjoyed the pictures of the meadow and your blooming posies. TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteOh, I love snow drops and have planted them in my backyard in the hopes that they might multiply. Instead the planted ones rarely come up... Don't know what's wrong... To see the whole ground covered with them - heavenly! Thank you for sharing your pictures of spring. We had two snowstorms last week and even though it was mild this weekend and there was lots of melting going on the ground is still covered with snow. It will be a while before we see any flowers... So your card resembles more our weather... The card is very pretty! Love the die cut sentiment!

Sowdrops are such pretty little flowers, I tried to grow them once...not green fingered. Your other bloom is stunning, Kate x

gorgeous Christmas card. We went for one of our walks yesterday and snowdrops were everywhere, ours are slowly poking through - I think the daffodils are going to beat them this year. The other year we went to Hodsocks Priory which only opens for its snowdrops, stunning x

ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful scene on your card and framed so wonderfully. And what a scene with those snowdrops! We planted Hellebores for the first time this fall and I can hardly wait to see them bloom.
ReplyDeleteFabulous recycling. Love the frame as well. Isn't it amazing how our cards can come together in no time if we leave enough bits and bobs on our crafting table? I guess that's one of the secrets of the creative process. Not a snowdrop in sight here on Crete I'm afraid. We used to have lots of them when we were still living in the Netherlands. We also had Hellebores in our garden, but they didn't do so well.
ReplyDeleteMy hellebores blooms point down like yours. i read that they are perfect for those that have flower beds on top of high retaining walls. Then you can see the blooms!
