Half an Egg!

I had intended to make a casket  style egg
for Easter
but then I realised I didn't have any of the small hinges needed
so  half an Egg it is!!

Made from half a cardboard egg shape
(painted using a yellow matchpot paint )
half a cardboard cotton reel
and loads of hotgluing .
Various flowers made from either
glass shapes, foam, ribbon, or ready made.
All from my stash.
Butterflies , lace , pearls and plaque also
from my stash.
The sentiment was created in word.

I will let the photo's do most of the talking.

The weight of the flowers kept making
it fall over so I remedied it by filling
the hollow cotton reel with 20 penny
coins!

You could say it is now a pot of Bronze!

  20. Beautiful Mrs A! Your inventiveness knows no bounds :)

Re. your question over at Barb's blog - a great piece of software for manipulating piccies is GIMP. It's free to down load and you can easily manipulated piccies - including those taken a bit at an angle with, say, one side higher than the other. I use it all the time to add my watermark and also reduce the number storage size of my piccies for fear of Picasa throwing a wobbly and saying I've used up too much storage!

  26. This is just the cleverest idea I've seen in a while. I'm so glad you shared the side view, as it gave more demonstration of how this beautiful creation was put together. The yellow color is perfect with the lovely explosion of flowers and I love your fix to make the display stand properly. You are just so creative & talented! Loved the way you've added the tiny butterflies. Had to really look to spot them in the flowers too. TFS & Hugs
