Happy Birthday To Me!

I blinked and now my blog is 6yrs old today!
Doesn't time fly when your having Crafty Fun.
I thought it might be  rather fun to go back to 2010
and pick one of  my first posts to re show to you.
So here is my blast from the past
Turkish Delight.

A five-sided silk embroidered box.

Made from real silk material
which at the time was nearly 40yrs old.


I had a look in my material stash
the other day and found I still had a piece
of the silk left.
Also pleased to say that the lady who now owns this
is still one of my followers!!

    Amazing how the years fly by, I am also into my sixth year but wont be till Nov to be exact .. but working on it ..

    Happy Birthday to you and I do hope you had a wonderful day.
    That silk box reminds me of a box my mother made yonks ago only hers was a house with dolls inside.
    Which she made for a church fete.
    I keep thinking of it lately, and wish I had bought it, but I was too young to have appreciated all the wonderful work involved.
    So thank you for reminding me of it yet again.
    I wish I was the lady who owned that beautiful piece of work.
    Sadly I can no longer sew because of my eyes it takes me so long to thread a needle.
    It's the very fine detail that my eyes won't let me see.
    I used to embroider, and sew quite a bit at one time.
    Yes I am one of your followers, and have been for quite some time.

    And I'm that lucky lady! :)
    I can tell everyone that as beautiful as this looks in the photos here, in real life it is even more so. It sits on my desk, housing my paper flower collection.
    It really is a special piece, not only because it was handmade, but also because the fabric is as old as I am.
    I'll have to take a photo and show you.
