Knot on Wood!

Here are some knots to give you  inspiration
for my #39 Butterflies + K is for Knots.
You still have a few days left to enter.

In this 1st card the knots are in the Wood Panel!
The stamp is by Clear  Impressions
and came free in a  Get Stamping Magazine.
I stamped twice to get a double panel
and coloured using a brown promarker .
Butterflies are 'Duplex' Decoupage toppers.
I matched the backing cards to the colours in them
and layered up.
The sentiment came in the same stamp set.

Mod Squad Challenge # Anything With Wings.

My 2nd card uses sheer ribon to creat a knot.

Card Base is a blank card aperture
made by Crafts House.
I used sheer ribbon cut in lengths and attached behind
the butterfly to fill.
The ribbon has a lovely pink and blue shimmer to it  IRL.
I then backed with a sheet of plain blue card stock
which I used again to die cut the eyelet panel .
Spellbinders A2 Floral Ribbon Threader.
Threaded two small pieces of the ribbon through
from each end and made a knot in the centre.
I added  white stickles to the 2 embossed butterflies.
A close up showing the shimmer of the ribbon.
Entering into the following  challenges:
Crafty Gals Corner #39 Things with wings.
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #19 Anything goes.
3 Girl Jam # Anything goes with ribbon.

Last card  also uses a ready made card blank.
I have used a  Decoupage sheet by Tbz-Kaart .
You can't see very well but the two butterflies
are cut out again and adhered to the main image
using sticky pads.
The inset  pattern on the card had a slotted ribbon along
the bottom which  Iv'e simply adhered a knotted  length
of green raffia over the top of.

(Actually it wasn't simple as it took me ages to space
and  get the knots in all the right places.!)
Here is a close up of them.

  1. Your cards are very inspirational Valery. I can imagine how long those little knots took to get in place. The wood knots idea is genius! I wonder was it one of those middle of the night inspiration moments. Barbxx
