Snowmen

Time once more at the Christmas Card Club
to show the cards we made for
the next theme chosen by Lorraine C.
'Snowmen'.
I had two old used cards in my stash
with snowmen on and as I liked them both
I have made 2 cards.
First up is this one re using an oblong card.
I cut the 2 end snowmen off and then fussy cut them out
and placed in front of the rest of them to make
a square card. To neaten it up I used  a frame
that I had die cut the centre from for
the scarecrow card.
Sentiment made using my Britannia word dies
and glued to the frame using PVA adhesive.
I attached Acetate to the front with brads
and then adhered to a piece of red card
which  I then matted onto a white base card.
I finished off with a bow made from a snippet of twine
I had left over in my stash.

Crafty Creations #275 Brads, buttons or bows.
Squigglefly Challenge #43 Use a frame.
Paper Minutes #345 Christmas and red.

My second card is again using an old oblong one.
This time I cut the Christmas trees off from either end
and used inside the card.
I have made another Gate fold card.
I love making these.

Card bases are made from silver and  navy pearlised card
and layered up alternately.
Sentiment is the negative of a Britannia word die
layered onto navy card .
I found some cute little snowmen embellishments
in my stash by Accessorize
which matched perfectly.

  18. Such fabulous upcycling on the first card! Love that image and you were right to recycle it. Because of your fabulous creations I shall look at this years shop bought cards differently and try to upcycle more of them.
I love the unusual shape of the second and have just remembered it's a Joy fold - must make some of those again! More gorgeous images and I love that you used the waste for the sentiment - something else I must try to remember to do with other sentiment dies!
Fabulous little embellishments too - I got to that shop when they have a sale to see if there is anything I can dismantle and use on my creations - yipee I am doing that right! Karen x

Loved the navy & silver trees a whole bunch as well. You've been very productive & creative. You know I'm loving all that matting you've got going on. Take care, Big Hugs & TFS
