For My Mum.

I painted this picture for My Mum the Day before she died.
It is drawn from
The Australian Birthday Book
Galah Paper
and is the Swift Parrot.
The bird for her Month of  October.

  1. Valery, this is so beautiful. I doubt I shall ever see one of these brilliant birds IRL, so certainly enjoyed your art. And you know what, I think your sweet Mom will know you did this just especially for her. Hope you are managing ok. Thoughts & prayers coming your way. Hugs & TFS

  3. This is a gorgeous painting Mrs A. We have lots of colourful parrots at our place, depending on what gum trees are flowering. Can't say I've seen this one though. It's a beautiful tribute to you Mum, Cathy x

  15. Fabulous painting and I am certain that your Mum would have loved it.
Strange but I was 31 when my Mum died suddenly aged 58, the day before I had bought her Birthday present. I have still got it.

    Thinking of you.

  17. Aww... how bittersweet. This bird has such brilliant colors and fine plumage. I'll bet he's a treat to see in real life as well.

  18. Very emotional it has made me. I too made mum things before she died and placed them in her open coffin at the church...photos etc that would remind her of us....xx
