Watercolour Flowers.

I got my water colour paints out the other day
and had a little play.
This is the resulting card.
I started by giving the water colour card a wash
with a large wet paint brush to cover all over.
Then I just selected pinks and mauves and colour washed
to give a subtle background which I left to dry.
The stamp is by Imagination crafts which  I stamped
using 'London Fog' to give a very light inpression and then
coloured in using the paints which I pulled out using more water.
I''m quite pleased with how it turned out.
Once competely dry I trimmed down and adhered to a purple base.
This in turn was adhered to a sheet of vellum  that was
adhered to the mauve card base.
I used silver peel off stickers  and then because
the card was for a swap which the theme was
'Use Something from the Trash to Recycle
I set about transforming a used bottle top.
This top was already a purple colour so
it didn't need painting. I already had some previously
made shrink plastic butterflies and this pink  one
was not only the right colour but the right size too.
I simply placed a circle of purple card in the base of the
cap, popped in the butterfly and then commenced to put
several layers of glossy accents into the cap to fill it up.
As each layer went from an opaque  to a clear as it set
I put another layer in.

Sentiment is a Britannia Die.
The card is in Australia  now and my partner is a tad disappointed
that I hadnt' really used  Fish Bones on the card  as I had joked I would.
All I can say is Merry,  watch this space!!!!

I just walked passed my desk on the way to the computer and had another look at this wonderful card. Love hearing how it all went together. Such a lovely card. Lol about the fish bones…..maybe it's one of those moments I should watch what I wish for. :-)

You have achieved a lovely misty feel to the pretty floral stamping Mrs A and so prettily offset with the butterfly embellishment.

Fortunately didn't see any white coats so they didn't throw the key away and I made it home again.

Hope you have a good Sunday.

Watercolour lends itself nicely to lovely backgrounds.
What kind of butterflies did you see?
I bought myself a new indntification book from the National Trust. It doesn't always help as they won't keep still.
I used to know a lot of them, but my memory is not as good as it was!

I love, love, love that bottle cap and butterfly. The watercolor is beautiful and soft. This is such a pretty card. I laughed so hard when I read your comment on my blog. If the trunk of my car wasn't already loaded with things to donate to the nursing home, I would store some of my stuff in there. That's a great idea! If I keep buying stuff I may have to get another car to store it in.
