I is for Inking.

It is  a new Theme
over at my Butterfly Challenge
I would like to see coloured inking somewhere on your project.
ie. Stamped image inked using coloured inks, or an inked background or distress inks/markers to colour your image.

Here are my inspiration cards for you.

The 1st one  uses a stamp set by
Imagination Crafts.
It has stamps which are both outline and solid infill
This enables you to build up a stamped image  using different
coloured ink pads for each stage of the stamping.
I first stamped the flower out using
distress ink in 'Peeled Paint'.The outline stamp of the
flower heads and buds was used next . I coloured
with  Versa Magic  'Perfect Plumeria' and lastly
the infill stamp using Versa Magic 'Pink Petunia.
The sentiment came in the same set.
Then I had a mishap.
I used the small butterfly infill
stamp to stamp off 2 small butterflies at the top of the flowers.
They looked awful  and ruined the card
so I had a hunt through my other
butterfly stamps and found a Clearly Besotted
'Elegant Butterflies stamp which just about
covered the mess up.  I stamped onto a scrap
of the same white card and layered up using 1st green
then plumeria and lastly petunia just overstamping
lightly with each colour.  Fussy cut out and then drew
round the stamp again. Fussy cut to give a slightly
larger image and inked up with the green.
I layered the white card up with  pink and dark pink
card stock from my stash that matched the inking
perfectly.

Layered inside with the pink card stock
and another flower head that I fussy cut out
after inking up.

For my second card I have used Cardio stamps
from ' Oriental Blossom Flower ' and 'Summer Wreath'.

I used a white card blank and cut a circle from
the front of it using my X cut dies.
Having removed the inner circle I then closed the card
and drew very lightly round the aperture using a pencil.
This gave me the shape to start building up my wreath design.
I used  Distress ink 'Forest Moss' for the base and then
Versa  Magic dew drops in Plumeria , Petunia and night sky
for the flowers. I stamped the butterflies one in each
colour into the centre of the circle.

I die cut another circle front and repeated the same pattern
around the outside edge sandwiching  a piece of
acetate in between. Stamped off another 3 butterflies and fussy cut out.
these were applied to the front and raised up slightly with 3d pads.
Silver sticker sentiment from my stash.

Inside of the card and below the card closed to show
the sentiment but I caught the glare from  the camera
on the acetate.

Do hope I have given you some ideas and hope to see you
play along.

I'm in love with your second card, so lovely and very inspiring!! I have read your process and I think this is a fabulous idea, I want try some of similar with the acetate and some of my (a lot of) negative diecuts. The wreaths with your inking are just amazing, so sweet and pretty!! And the butterflies looks great in the center!

I love it when people confess to mess ups. It makes me feels so much better! Well saved though, no-one would know if you hadn't fessed up. I love Card-io stamps, as you probably know and your wreaths are beautiful, such a clever idea to use the acetate.
