Acetate Shaped card.

My card shape today is made from Acetate
which has been sandwiched between
layers of patterned paper.
This is my inspiration piece for
my Butterfly Challenge

I find acetate is normally quite a fiddly thing to use in making cards.
You either have to use as a window within a frame or
attach using brads to the front so that you do not see
any of your fixing tapes.
I found a great  tutorial  here by Kristina Werner which uses none of these ideas.
Kristina used an actual acetate card base for her card
but I just used a sheet of acetate cut down and scored heavily using my Scor-Pal.

The design papers were a freebie in Papercraft Inspirations magazine
called Vintage Treasures by Jennifer Ellory.
Image is by Lily of the Valley from their pre coloured
Art Pad Set 19 Cute Cottage Garden.
I used my  Xcut  rounder  for the corners.

Here is the back of the card which shows the whole
of the acetate card with the design paper adhered to the back
which mirrors exactly the inside panel thus hiding all the double sided tapes.

The sentiment is made using Anita's silver peel offs.
Quite difficult to get good photos because of the glare you get
back from the acetate.  Don't think you can see me pointing the camera!

I find acetate fiddly so tend to avoid it! Liking your card.
Well I went to have a chat with the Girls about their fowl language and they were definitely not speaking those words at all. However, please will you and Ziva stop fighting for worms? It does upset me to see you two squabbling!
Hugs

One time at a class we made a whole set of really great acetate cards. The card base was acetate like you have here and then you just had to plan your inside and outside layers thusly to hide adhesive. They came out great, much like your card here did!

Wow, this is pretty and different. I love the way it just opens up like a window. The vase of flowers is so springy.

Ipad wouldn't let me finish. The die you asked about is called you mean the world to me by spellbinders. Code S4 - 497. Glad you asked as I found I had not noticed I had left a small square one inside the packaging. Glad I hadn't thrown it out! Thank you for your lovely comment. Carol xx

Gorgeous card Mrs A. Acetate works really well when it's embossed too xx

Aha, the hanging threads - or lack of them on my bag - believe it or not I thought of you as I was tidying them up - LOL xx
